I've been behind the chair for decades, and one thing I've learned is that the most important part of any hair appointment isn't always the haircut. It's the conversation.

Let's talk about something more clients are experiencing: hair shedding during their weight-loss journey, including those using GLP-1 medications.

You're making changes for your health, feeling good about your progress, and then suddenly you're noticing more hair in your brush, shower, or even a change in how your hair feels.

It can be emotional, confusing, and overwhelming.

Here's what I want you to know: Be open with your stylist.

You don't have to share anything you're uncomfortable with, but understanding changes in your health, nutrition, and medications can help us make better decisions about your hair.

Significant or rapid weight loss, nutritional changes, and physical stress can contribute to temporary hair shedding. It isn't necessarily the medication itself.

As your stylist, I'm here to listen, guide you through styling options, and help you manage the changes while encouraging you to speak with your healthcare provider about the cause.
