The Craft Techniques Zone brought the energy this year and it was such a good time getting on stage, demoing new products, sharing best practices, and talking shop with people who truly care about building better.

One of the best parts of the whole show was seeing how many people showed up ready to level up their skills, learn new products, and dive deeper into building science. That kind of energy is what makes IBS so good every year.

We tested the Matrix Sound Deadening Platform at the AB Fitness Trade Show in San Diego last year, and it quickly became a favorite. As a design-build firm, we’re obsessed with spaces that look great and work beautifully with the rest of the home. That means insulation in the walls for sound attenuation, plus specialty solutions like this Matrix Fitness Magnum VRS platform to minimize impact noise from dropped weights.

A few weeks removed from KBIS 2026 in Orlando and I’m still thinking about it.

Even though we were mostly on stage over at IBS doing live demos, we snuck away to walk the KBIS floor and see what’s new.

Quick takeaways:
✨ No shortage of stunning faucets and fixtures
🌿 Cabinetry and wood accent walls are everywhere, in the best way
🔥 Wellness is officially mainstream: more saunas than ever, plus Kohler’s new sauna and their Cold Plunge on site

We don’t do traditional kitchen and bath remodels, but we design a lot of shower and recovery spaces adjacent to home gyms and wellness suites. Staying in the know matters.

Can’t wait to see wellness and fitness take up even more space next year.
