So this happened today 🥰 and it’s so good….still waiting on the bedroom door, the cabinets, countertop, plumbing hookup and electrical to be finished in the bathroom but I’m just over here acting like it’s all finished anyway 😂

687 yards of fabric later and it’s finished! 🥳 This thing bout did me in though. It’s been a few years since I’ve sewn on my machine, but the cost of the fabric alone made me realize if I wanted this half tester to come to life I was going to have to figure out how to do it myself! I was sweating bullets getting up the nerve to cut the fabric, then was afraid my math wouldn’t math but it did 🎉 First one I’ve ever made and I’m feeling pretty dang accomplished! Up next matching wallpaper wall to wall behind it but that’s for another day, waiting on the installer on that cause there’s no way I’m tackling that myself! The bathroom portion and my bedroom door are dragging out a lot slower than I’d like but it’s getting there 😍

Been a long time since I’ve used this old girl but I still remember how 😅 My mama bought me this machine when I had Zack. I failed the sewing portion of Home Economics miserably. But I bought a pattern, some fabric and taught myself how to sew. This machine had sewn many pair of little shorts, overalls, dresses and bloomers when my babies were small. And all sorts of home projects, drapery and even tried my hand at slipcovers once, fail! But it always takes me back to little boys and girls, and a time when I had to make do every time I get it out. 🥹🥰

It’s getting so close to being able to put it all back together! Y’all save your pennies, couch cushion money, tax refund, husband’s sock drawer money, whatever you got cause I’m feeling a BIG purge coming on! And the shop is full again and y’all know what that means…SHOP SALE 🥳

I haven’t updated in a while. Honestly I didn’t want to post cause 😅 it always gets wayyyy worse before the better and honestly I just hate that part. But we’re getting closer and I’m hoping we are about 80% finished by Friday. Just waiting on my bedroom door from the incredible guys and my friend Jon , Justin Day should finish up the shower tile Friday, shower glass to be installed, Shawn and Batesville Cabinet Shop to finish my cabinets up, RJE to come finish lighting and the Limbaugh boys to finish plumbing. But I can actually see the finish line now PTL 🙌 Then for the pretty part! I love this old house 🏚️🏡

I talk often with a friend who grew up the same way I did so she gets it. And the topic always comes up about how as a kid who grew up in a single wide trailer, who as an adult is never too far from that inner kid. It’s a real thing and I struggle with it a lot. Then sometimes I just sit and ponder, taking in the life I have now. I often find myself wondering how in the world was I lucky enough to get here. To be so blessed to get to live a life I never even dreamed of as that kid because it seemed so very far away from even being reachable.

I’ve been blessed beyond measure in so many ways that it makes my eyes leak sometimes. A husband who is my biggest fan and thinks I hung the moon even if he does want to send me there now and then, kids who have all become successful adults in their own right, and two precious grandsons. God. That’s how. He will give you more than you ever dreamed possible if you’ll just get out of His way. And I think from time to time what I’d love to tell that little girl if had a chance to go back and meet her back then. That her life will be so much more than she ever could have dreamed. 🩷

On today’s episode of this old house 😂 Thanks to Justin Day with Calico Showers and Floors after today we now have a shower ready to start tile! 🥳 And believe me this is no easy job 🏚️ but he said he likes a good challenge 😅

Update for yesterday cause I forgot to post last night. Yesterday we got some plumbing roughed in, a little more sheetrock. And some under the house work cause well sometimes when you’re 190 you need a little help. And a door opening to my closet. Two new floor vents which were NOT put in an ideal place but that’s what I get for not being there for it and sometimes subs just don’t think like women or designers do. But it’s coming along sometimes you just have to roll with it. This is probably going to turn into 4 😅
