Hi Folks,

I am incredibly sad to announce that my Partner in Presents Past and the love of my life, Jacqui passed away on August12th from Adrenal Cancer, which was a malignancy caused by her original Kidney Cancer.

Those who got to meet her and work with her know that she was a tireless worker who researched and priced 90% of the merchandise that came into the shop. She also arranged the displays that drew compliments every day, did a huge part of the searching and acquisitions, and made me and a host of customers laugh every day. She was not just smart, she was brilliant. She was a political expert, though she seldom let that show at the shop, and the best wife anyone could ever dream of.

Jacqui and I made our life an adventure at every stage. Although I now have a couple of medical issues of my own, they are not nearly enough to keep me from seeking out the next adventure. I don't know what it will be, but I know it will be for both of us.

If anyone is interested her memorial is planned for October 22 and will be streamed. I will come back and leave time and streaming detail as soon as they are finalized.
We loved the shop and we loved you all.

We are sad to announce that we will be closing our shop in Newport at the end of September. While we love the store and Newport, we are a long way from our grandchildren and miss our friends in Eugene. We are going to continue to operate Presents Past but will be changing our model to make it less time and labor intensive. We currently work at least 10 hours a day seven days a week. So, once we get settled in Eugene, we will be much more in the way of online sales, and we may decide to have space at an antique mall or in an existing shop. Be sure and watch this space for announcements.

If you have items with us, we’ve probably already talked to you about returning them as we wind things down. Once the shop closes, we will be taking the month of October to pack and move the shop items. If you have items to pick up please call us, or better, email us at [email protected] or message us here on Facebook. We will not be in the shop every day, so please be sure you make arrangements with us before you come to get you items.

We cannot say thank you enough to the many friends we have made, our loyal customers and those of you who may have only stopped in once or twice on your vacations. You have made the hard work we put into this well worth the effort in so many ways. We have enjoyed hearing how much you like the shop; how nice the displays are and the memories of simpler days it triggers. We will miss you! Thanks.
