The dining room in our is central to the house and very visible from multiple sight lines. Our clients wanted a more casual space that could be used for both meals and work. We kept the space aligned with the Victorian architecture but made it more relaxed with less formal table and chairs and selected extremely durable materials that can perform in real life.

I like when the old parts of a house are allowed to stay old. In the entry of our project, we kept the stairs traditional and paired them with a classic woven wool runner. A custom cabinet turns a dead space into a focal point and adds function.

We introduced a larger sofa that fits the proportions of the space and positioned it directly across from the fireplace to anchor the room. This created a clear path for how people actually enter the room, sit, and gather.
