The soul of this 1724 home lives in details like these. Original millwork, centuries-old pine floors, and a beautifully worn built-in cupboard were carefully preserved and restored throughout the renovation.
In early New England homes, cupboards like this often served as storage for linens, tableware and family documents. Nearly 300 years later, it remains exactly what it was intended to be: both useful and beautiful.

Over time this, this 1724 home had morphed into a two family residence.

One of the loveliest updates made in this renovation was the introduction of this gracious stairwell merging the two sides of the home back to a single family home, marrying it to the history of the original structure with contemporary architectural details.
