Most satisfying transformation. I let the garlic cure in the dark for the past month and they are now ready to be cleaned up. By curing the garlic, it prolongs the shelf life for up to 9 months! The before and after is wild.

I still have my softneck to clean up. These will be an available soon!!!

Hi. I’m still here. Things look a little different in the garden this year. If you don’t follow my personal page, we are expecting a little girl this New Year’s Eve.
The garden started very late this year due to the first trimester sickies.
But, I still have so much growing for more dried flower projects. The ornaments and wreaths last year were a big success for me and I’m looking forward to those later this year. I have lots of flowers for more room sprays, loofahs coming in for more soaps (even though I said I’d never grow them again…) and popcorn growing!!! I will still have fresh flowers later this summer for bouquets.
Trying to embrace this slower season in my life and not be frustrated at the energy I am lacking.
Thank you for your support and can’t wait to share more. Good things continue to grow here just in different ways.

Still snacking on this rhubarb strawberry sorbet I made a couple months ago. Grandma has a big rhubarb patch at her house. Swipe to the end for the recipe.

I cooked down the strawberries and rhubarb, puréed it and used my KitchenAid ice cream attachment (HIGHLY recommend) to make this.

This was amazingly sweet and really hits the spot on these muggy summer days.

Edit: SOLD OUT! Thank you so much.
Garlic Scape Salt!

Just harvested all of my garlic and will have that available in the next 5-6 weeks! Planning to make some garlic salt, and possibly garlic infused olive oil as well.

Let’s Make Garlic Scape Salt!
I followed ‘s recipe for this. Check my TikTok reposts for her video.

Ingredients -
Fresh Garlic Scapes
Salt - I used coarse sea salt

Steps -
* Wash the scapes and cut the “flower” off
* Chop up into smaller pieces and put in food processor
* Run processor until creating a loose paste
* Measure the paste and use a 2:1 ratio with salt
* Mix salt and scapes thoroughly
* Lay out on parchment paper
* Set oven as low as it can go - mine was set to 170 °
* Bake until there is no moisture left - took me about an hour and a half and I stirred it occasionally to break up wet clumps
* Run through food processor one more time
* Then it’s ready to store!

I posted back in January some seeds I was really excited for this year. This last weekend I planted them.

Growing up, my grandparent’s grew popcorn and my favorite part of sleepovers was getting to make homegrown stovetop popcorn. The kernels were petite and light. Almost half the size of a sweet corn kernel. Popcorn plants don’t grown as tall as sweet corn and the ears are much smaller as well.
Grandma saved bacon fat and popped the corn in that. It gives the popcorn a salty slightly smoky flavor. (Tastes nothing like bacon)

My popcorn has a slight twist from Grandma and Grandpa’s and comes in the color blue. It doesn’t affect the taste and pops white just like traditional popcorn. I just love a little extra flare.

Fingers crossed these turn out even after being planted a little late in the season.
