A Vintage Touch of Dutch

A Vintage Touch of Dutch A small business aimed at making your home look more beautiful with touches of antique, vintage and reclaimed material items.

We love the antiques and vintage items. The more character they have, unusual they are, or awesome stories that come with the pieces, the more we fall in love. After years traveling and shopping every hole-in-the-wall thrift store, antique market, and basement/attic stash we could find in Europe, we decided we need to start selling stuff before we end up on an episode of hoarders. I am American

working in Germany, and my family and I love in the Netherlands. We will only be selling things that we love ourselves, so we know our taste isn't for everyone. Our dream is to make this little venture a success and be able to finance more buying trips and the passion of treasure hunting in general! We will be listing (slowly but surely) our smaller, more shippable items on the Etsy page. For the larger items, we will post them directly here (available for local delivery or pick-up near Nijmegen or Kleve ). Thanks for looking and supporting your local, small businesses.

Hi everyone! I am so sorry for dropping off the IG and FB planet for the last months… First my phone was stolen, then I caught COVID and then Putin started a war. For those of you that don’t know, my husband and I are both military working for NATO so of course, along with the overwhelming feeling of horror about what is going on in the Ukraine, we are also barely keeping our heads above water with work. We are facing some upcoming periods of being away from home as well, so I have needed to step away from my thrifting hobby. I have an entire mini-brocante/kringloop in my basement right now that I intended to photograph, list, and sell yet I just haven’t had the time or energy. Thank you to everyone who checked in on me and I really hope to get engaged again here soon. In the meantime, prayers and strength to the beautiful, brave people of the Ukraine.

It was a gloomy, rainy Sunday around here. My husband had worked all night, so my daughter and I went out in search of Junk Markets. Unfortunately the weather cancelled them all, but we did find a Kringloop open on Sunday in Herwen! The shop seemed bit overpriced, in my opinion, but we had fun.

One of my favorite reasons to thrift! A few weeks ago I grabbed this 100% Scottish wool blazer by Saint Andrews. It was too snug on me but fit one of my best friends PERFECTLY! 😍😍😍

Even though Wednesday was a bad day for me, and my phone was stolen while at the junk store, I was able to buy this cute little lot of vintage pieces for €2 (all of it!). So, a bit of a silver lining to that cloud.

Headed back to Heumen 🇳🇱 at the final moments of the shopping day Saturday to rescue a beautiful Karin Campfens signed 1990 print I regretted leaving behind on Friday. I ran in to get the ONE thing and left with 5 more. 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ Am I the only one this happens to?? 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s a Also known as a and the story goes that it was invented as sort of a practical joke to teach greedy people a lesson. It has holes and a valve inside the stem in the middle; if you overfill your cup it was all drain straight out the bottom. If filled normally, the liquid stays inside and you can drink out of it like a regular cup. Very cool!!

Happy Sunday!

Am I the only one who can’t resist milk glass?!? 🥰😍 I can’t be the only one! 😅

Today I’m just relaxing, video editing in my pajamas and trying to get my thrifting videos uploaded!

I was using TikTok and IG stories, but my most recent was over 12 min, so I am pivoting to YouTube as a platform for the long videos. See my bio for my new linktree to find all my associated accounts! 😍
