Hello my name is Stephanie and I have been making yarn in the heart of the Bluegrass state since 2007. Fleeces are locally sourced, scoured/washed, and dyed for spinners, doll makers, and felters. Each yarn and fiber is selected for breed specific qualities and because I simply adore them. They are perfect for knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners, and textile artists. The building and parking l

ot are physically on High Street behind Tickled Pink. Shopping is also available online for those not local.

Today it is raining. And I’m thankful. For the past month we haven’t had a lot of rain. This means at the end of the day after all the dyeing is done, there was time to work on this summer‘s garden. The beds were tilled and mixed with generous amounts of chicken Poo from the neighbor’s chickens and my quail.

Truck loads of mulch were hauled in to spread along the paths. My neighbor’s son was kind enough to help me spread a few loads in hard to reach areas. The rest was me and my little scrappy black truck. That finished the back yard. The side and front are still not mulched.

Hopefully we will have a few dry days in the coming weeks so the side and front yards can be finished. Until then I will knit and maybe work on tidying the inside of my house which I have been neglecting.

This year the garden will have: Anasazi and Scarlet runner beans; pickling cucumbers; potatoes both fingerling and creamer; Cherokee Purple, Black Brandywine, Black Pineapple, and Rainbow Cherry Tomatoes; Sweet Onion Sets; Sea Island Cotton;, Huckleberries; Basils; Zinnias; Corn Flowers; Lavender; Chocolate Habaneros; and a few odd seeds already forgotten.

Thank you so much for coming out this weekend to the Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival. My favorite thing about the hometown show is catching up with so many of you. Thank you so much for the lovely weekend!

You might be wondering who my helper was this weekend. It was Tamara’s son Cooper who is back from New York. Many of you probably met Tamara when dropping off donations that will be sent to Craft programs at local schools. I am blessed to have such amazing humans in my life!
