Well friends, it's August. And before the chill in the air nips at us next month, before those yellow school busses come 'round, and before we break out those gorgeous fall colors and start decorating, there's one thing happening first that fills so many with absolutely all the feels: dropping the kids off at college. Excitement, pride, sadness, and worry all hit at once, making it nearly impossible to remember everything they need for their dorms and surviving without their parents for the first time. Melben's is here for stocking up on all-natural soaps and loofahs, small-space shelving needs, last-minute surprises, and even a listening ear if you need to talk it out and show off your child's baby pictures so you can reminisce.

To all you kids out there heading off to college, remember that this is harder on your parents than it is on you. Good luck to every single one of you!! Make your community proud, make your family proud, and most importantly, make yourselves proud.

Hello, friends!! First, thank you all so much for your well wishes last week. The boss is feeling better, and we are back in action! What's on our minds this week? HARVESTING, and allll the work that follows!! You've just spent a lovely afternoon picking buckets of blueberries, checking to see what's ready in the garden, or headed to the farmer's market for the freshest local produce around. Now what? Peeling, slicing, canning, baking breads, prepping teas and soup mixes, making jams and preserves... we're exhausted just thinking about it! Luckily, we've got tools, tips, and inspiration to help you on your homesteading path.
