Since many of you in this group are also personal friends, you may already be aware of all of what I’m about to post, but for those of you I’ve met at craft shows/festivals & things over the years, this will be new to you.
I will no longer be selling shadowboxes in public. As I may have mentioned to you, each individual shadowbox takes around 2 hours to create. And although I have no small children (actually, I personally have no children), the actual creating of shadowboxes has become more of a time investment than I’m now willing to make at a level to sell them regularly.
Additionally, packing everything up, loading it in my car & actually setting up is a LOT. The tent, tables, grid wall & hooks. The multiple crates. My little CRV is usually bulging at the seams when I head to/from an event. And as I get older, my body is no longer reacting well to the stress of that much activity in a relatively short time. Sometimes when I arrive home after an event, I’m so stiff & sore I can barely make it from the car to the bed.
All that being said, I have at least 60 completed shadowboxes that are in desperate need of a new home. The sooner the better. If you have any interest in a shadowbox design, PLEASE let me know ASAP. I am more than willing to see if I have it already made. I am offering anything that is already made at HALF of my regular retail price. $40 is the price on my website for an 8x8 shadowbox, so anything already made, is now $20. For the “flat” frames, such as the stained glass, those are half off as well.
I will continue to make shadowboxes as gifts, upon request or for causes that are close to me. I have a very limited supply of empty frames at the moment. Prices for requests will be discussed upon request, but may be lower than my previous retail based upon my discretion. I still maintain a collection of more than 400 patterns.
I want to thank each & every one of you for all of your support over the last 3.5 years I’ve been publicly selling shadowboxes. I absolutely do not regret meeting any of you & honestly have loved selling, it’s just time for me to move on to something smaller, easier to manage & takes less personal time.
