Back to the basement. Since this is a B&B, with guests coming and going, they needed to have a place to relax. So a pool table was added, along with some couches and a desk, a cabinet with board games. And, of course, another bathroom which included laundry facilities.
Then there is the main house to work on, which is the actual kit. The kit is well-made, everything fits together the way it is supposed to, and all the wallpaper and landscaping is included. Well, my human had to add the landscaping for the hillsides beside the basement, but that was extra anyway.
Now it was time to connect the main house to the basement!

Now for the inside of the house. My human, Midge, decided she wanted another stairway from the ground floor to the second store. And we really wanted a bathroom on the ground floor, also. After all, what were all these humans supposed to do? (Life as a mouse is so much simpler!)
So she set to work making a free-standing staircase, and used the underside of it to make a half-bath. It's actually the illusion of a bathroom, because only the toilet is visible. The door is fixed at half-open, and there is nothing else under the stairway.
Some miniaturists don't like to take up space with stairways, and some don't like to add bathrooms, but my human likes both.

The first thing my human, Midge, decided to do when bashing this store kit, was to add a basement. Turns out it wasn't as easy as it first appeared. Stairs into the basement? Windows? She finally decided on the open plan, like the top part of the house, making it more like a "daylight basement" with access from the outside. So after carefully measuring everything (I helped with that!) she got a base laid out, using Paperclay to form the sloping hillside.
Then she decided to get really fancy and she bolted a wooden Lazy Susan to the base, which would make it easy to turn it around to see all sides.
The last part of the basement construction was to cut a board to put in as a base for the main house. Finally!
Now we were ready to focus on the house itself. Had to add some bathrooms as it was going to be a Bed and Breakfast, after all! And we were going to need one more stairway. But I'll have to tell you more about that later because my snack stash is getting really
low!

Through the Magnifying Glass #1
by Inspector CheckMouse

Hello again. This is Inspector CheckMouse, bringing you the latest news. We have the coolest kit on our website, called The Victorian Store. It comes in both 1:48 (quarter) scale and in 1:144 (micro) scale. It's supposed to be a store, but my human, Midge, decided to bash the kit! I know, "bash" sounds terrible, and I went around and hid all the hammers! Actually, to bash a kit, you just change it from the original plan to a new plan. Whew! She decided to make it into a Bed and Breakfast, instead of a store! I'll get pictures out and show you what she did. For a human, she did a pretty good job! I helped, of course.
