Earlier this month, Nik Middleton, Michele Quinn Littlefield, and Chad Carr had the pleasure of joining Northland Chair Larry Gottesdiener and hundreds of others for the first topping-off ceremony of Stantec (building 3) in the Pattern District, formerly known as Northland Newton Development.

More than a decade in the making, the 822-unit project — which will include 145 units designated for lower- and middle-income residents — will feature 1.5 acres of green space and nearly 100,000 SF of retail and restaurant space, all centered around a 1.5-acre park with bike and pedestrian paths, 750 trees, water features, and the already completed community splash pad.

When complete, the project will be the largest privately funded development in the country to meet the rigorous environmental standards required for Passive House certification.

As always, it was our privilege to sponsor and participate in the Gold Star Run for Honor. For 20 years now, this event, honoring the memory of CPL Scott Procopio who was killed in Iraq in 2006, is an inspiring and emotional event for everyone involved.

Our team this year included Tino Freitas, Ryan Garrett, Alexa Jankowsky, and Michele Quinn Littlefield, as well as a handful of incredibly supportive family members and friends. We have to congratulate everyone for participating, with a special nod to Alexa who WON the women’s 5K!

Year after year the event raises thousands of dollars for the CPL. Scott J. Procopio Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides educational scholarships to children, siblings, and spouses of members of United States Armed Forces that have been killed in combat operations.

There are few things more inspiring than a great group of people, a memorable night, and a stunning skyline.

Our Miami team recently set sail for a sunset cruise through beautiful Biscayne Bay, taking in the city’s historic waterfront, iconic architecture, and unforgettable skyline.

Please help us welcome Senior Project Manager, Robert Wyatt, AIA, to the team.

Rob began his career as an architectural designer with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in Chicago, later focusing on technical design and then project management. At Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and subsequently Portman in Atlanta and Arquitectonica in Miami, Rob was able to contribute to the design and delivery of projects across continents, including the US, Canada, Europe, South America, MENA, and Asia, focusing on polished, sustainable high-rise and super tall buildings serving office, mixed-use, and residential programs. 
 
Rob will be based out of our Miami office, and we are thrilled to have him with us.

As part of our ongoing internal Construction Administration (CA) training initiative, members of our Miami team recently visited the site for Cassi currently under construction, providing a valuable opportunity for them to experience the project firsthand and deepen understanding of the coordination, detailing, and ex*****on involved in bringing a complex mixed-use development to life.

Located just west of Biscayne Boulevard in the Miami Design District, this 20-story tower will feature 107 luxury residences. Thoughtful amenities include sundeck and gardens, pool with panoramic bay views, indoor & outdoor fitness pavilion, yoga studio and sauna, chef’s catering kitchen, exclusive private dining club, great room with lounge and library, co-working space with private studios, and children’s playroom. Plus, nearly 16,000 square feet of retail space at the pedestrian level, and a 227-space garage. 100 West Street in Needham Heights, officially broke ground on May 7 following an extensive site clearing that began earlier this year. This new, 189-unit multifamily community will transform a 4.3-acre site into a thoughtfully planned, transit-oriented residential development aligned with Needham’s new MBTA Communities zoning.

This eight-story, 250,397-square-foot development will bringing a new level of design-forward, flexible living to the heart of this vibrant location.

A former student at Florida International University, Alex graduated with his Master of Architecture and brings experience from previous roles working closely with a developer and an award-winning conceptual design studio. It was in those roles where he honed his skills in design, technical coordination, and real estate development, with a focus on high-rises, urban design, and the use of technology to improve architectural workflows.
