🪨 Rock Drop Update

I started this series right before a cross-country trip — the idea was to drop painted rocks across NYC and Iowa, one by one, and share each one with a photo, story, and location.

But when we got to New York… the box of rocks was missing.
I had people at the post office on a full-on scavenger hunt looking for a 9 lb box of art and hope.

So I paused posting, unsure if they’d ever make it.

Good news? They did.

And now I’m picking up right where I left off — Rock #4 and onward.

This rock here? It’s painted from the photo I took as I left Bolivia — a memory from a window seat as I flew toward the unknown.

It’s one of the first I dropped during this project.

Let’s see where the rest go. 🗺️

Because doomscrolling is overrated and mystery is underrated.

🪨 Rock #1 of 100 — Let’s cause some creative chaos.

I’m painting 100 rocks. Hiding them from Iowa to NYC.
Why?
Because the world needs less doomscrolling and more “wait… what is this?”

This one’s called “Set Sail” — a tiny boat carrying a whole lot of hope.

🎨✨ Something colorful is coming to Iowa City, North Liberty… and beyond! ✨🎨

I’ve been quietly painting a special collection of rocks that I’ll be leaving behind as little surprises all around town (and across the country during an upcoming road trip!) 🚗💨💕

Each one is hand-painted with love and tagged with a simple message:
“You found me. Share the love. Re-hide me!” ❤️

📍You might spot one at a park, by a coffee shop, or even near your favorite local trail.
They’re meant to brighten someone’s day — and spark a little joy along the way.

Our Blessings & Answered Prayers Box

This is a meaningful way to reflect on how the Lord is working in your life throughout the year. The idea is simple: write down the blessings you’ve experienced, opportunities God has guided you toward, or prayers you’ve lifted up. Place each one in a special box to collect throughout the year.

The blessings might include moments where God provided for you in ways you didn’t expect, things you’re thankful for, or even times where His “no” or “not yet” guided you toward something better. You can also write down prayers and look back later to see how God has answered them—whether with a yes, no, or wait.

While the best time to start this is January 1st, it’s never too late! If you’re hearing about this now, don’t let the date stop you. Grab a box (even a simple one to start), and begin writing your blessings and prayers today. The goal isn’t to fill every day perfectly but to create a habit of gratitude and reflection on God’s work in your life.

If you want to make this practice even more special, consider using a decorative box that complements your home. Not only will it serve its purpose, but it could also be a conversation starter for visitors, giving you an opportunity to share how God has been moving in your life.

Then, on New Year’s Eve, take time to open the box and read through everything you’ve written. You’ll be reminded of all the ways God has blessed and provided for you. You’ll see answered prayers, recognize how He has guided you, and perhaps even gain clarity on where He may be leading you in the coming year. For any prayers still waiting on answers, carry them into the new year with faith and trust in His perfect timing.

As Jesus reminds us in Matthew 7:11, “If you, then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” Our Heavenly Father gives abundantly, often far more than we can imagine.

By creating and using this “Our Blessings & Answered Prayers” box, you’ll not only strengthen your faith but also create a beautiful testimony to God’s goodness that can inspire those around you.
