These guests booked our basement Airbnb at the last minute and ended up staying 7 nights! They were so friendly and easy to host that they even asked if they could extend their stay by 2 more nights. Unfortunately, we already had other bookings coming in, so we could only add 1 extra night.
After a full week, the apartment definitely looked lived in—but honestly, it was exactly what I'd expect after a 7-night stay. Nothing crazy, just the normal cleanup that comes with hosting.
The real challenge? We had a same-day turnover, which means it's time to call in my cleaning crew... aka my kids. 😂

Today on "Things I Definitely Meant To Do"... 😅

I completely forgot to preheat my Dutch oven before baking this loaf.

At first I had that moment of panic where I considered abandoning the mission, but instead I decided to trust the process, toss the dough in anyway, say a little bread prayer, and hope for the best. 🙏🍞

The result? Honestly... pretty darn good!

I ended up baking it about 3 extra minutes, but considering my major oops, I can't complain. Just another reminder that sourdough is often way more forgiving than we give it credit for.

Perfection is overrated. Fresh bread is not. 😍

Have you ever had a baking fail that somehow turned into a win?

These guests were a lovely couple who left my basement Airbnb in great condition and even left a 5-star review! ⭐

During their stay, they discovered two things they now want for their own home: a shower mirror and the charging stations I keep on the nightstands. 😁

The apartment was overall very clean, but whatever delicious meals they cooked left behind a powerful aroma that lingered long after checkout. Time to break out the ozone generator and get everything fresh and ready for the next guests!

Follow along as I do another Airbnb checkout inspection and share the real behind-the-scenes experience of hosting.

Tried my hand at discard burger buns (and one hotdog bun) for dinner today! Used a recipe from - she is my main go-to for recipes!!

These turned out SO GOOD - I will make a few tweaks next time, but so happy with today’s result!

Also… we harvested some of our salad greens for our salad to go with dinner- made it extra fun to have homemade buns and a homegrown salad for dinner today 👏🏻👏🏻

Now we just need bees and chickens, and we are set! 😂😂

Not so much the chickens, but we’ve been seriously considering the bees 🐝🐝 So drop any tips if you have them!

1 Night Stay… and These Guests Left My Airbnb SPOTLESS 😍

I may have spotted costumes when these guests arrived… and I’m pretty sure they were in town for our local Renaissance Fair 👑⚔️ (which honestly sounds SO fun 😂).

They were fantastic guests — respectful, easy, and left the space incredibly clean after checkout. The kind of guests every Airbnb host hopes for! I’d happily host them again anytime.

I checked my Airbnb apartment after a 1-night stay from the sweetest guests ever! They were on an epic road trip through National Parks, heading all the way to Montana, and honestly sounded like such adventurous, kind people.

As an Airbnb host, you never know what you’ll walk into after checkout… but these guests left the apartment extremely clean — one of the cleanest stays I’ve seen! From great communication to leaving everything in amazing condition, they were truly a host’s dream guests.

She Gave Me 5⭐ in EVERY Category… But a 4⭐ Overall?! 😭🤦‍♀️

I was this guests’ VERY FIRST Airbnb stay!

Communication was good, but they weren’t fully prepared for the reality of staying in a basement Airbnb where the host family lives upstairs (yes… as clearly stated in the listing 😅).

When they mentioned the noise, we did our absolute best to tiptoe through the rest of their stay… but after checkout? I got my SECOND 4-star review 😭

The twist? She gave me FIVE STARS in EVERY SINGLE CATEGORY… and then a 4 overall 🤦‍♀️ Airbnb hosts… you know the pain.

Hosting wins, hosting struggles, guest communication, and the wild world of Airbnb reviews 🏡✨

After a 4-night Airbnb stay, I’m doing a full checkout walkthrough after hosting 2 contractor workers in our basement Airbnb! 🏠

They were honestly super pleasant guests — followed our house rules, respected checkout instructions, and left the apartment in really great shape for a longer stay 🙌

But hosting always comes with surprises 😂

They used our detergents, drank some waters, skipped the snacks entirely… and left behind a few unexpected treasures: a water bottle, some random garbage, a used flosser in the bed 😳, a whole bag of UNUSED flossers, and eggs in the fridge 🍳

Oh… and I had to channel some courage and use a random receipt to remove a dead spider from the floor 🕷️😂 Never a dull moment in Airbnb hosting!

Everything I use in my rental is in my linktree shop in bio!
