I had a class for Creative Quilters of Ellis County for the Dresden Neighborhood. I met many wonderful new quilter friends! I am hoping that we can get some of them to post pictures of their projects so that we can see what was created and see what the quilters thought about the class! I was recently in Celeste Tx for a program and workshop for the Tri-County Quilt Guild. They do have a Quilt show this coming weekend! https://tricountyquiltguild.org/2026-quilt-show-dates-and-hours/. There will be many awesome quilts and lots of cool things to purchase in the Boutique! I saw some really cool denim jackets that they had added bling and designer fabric accents! Very cool jackets!

For the workshop, we did the Stained Glass Art Quilts. Hopefully some of the finished ones will be posted here on this page for you to see! They were so wonderful! Roses in many colors and a tulip and my new Daylily pattern!

I've started teaching a raw edge applique class for Portraits - People or pets. See what I created. This is our family cat Columbus. He's gone but not forgotten.

My crab cakes quilt won 1st place in my category for the North Texas Quilt Show this year! WOW! Very exciting. Yay to Jackie Lehto also for the fabulous quilting!

I’m so excited to have finished one small quilt that was in my UFO pile today and also I got another UFO all the way quilted and just have to put the binding on it to finish it completely. Yay!

Also our guild bee made these adorable angels during our meeting! Vicki was an excellent teacher!

We all get so busy doing things, that lt is just so hard to get back to things. I have to say, it really made me feel good to finish my Pansies! Hopefully I’ll inspire you to do that with one projects! I have to say that the reason that I get on things more is because I have somebody in the background pushing me too. It’s my wonderful sister Jackie Lehto. She’s a forever teacher. I love her so! She quilted the quilt I’ve entered in the NTQF. Have to wait till after the show to put that up!

Also I'm sharing some pics of me and my Granddaughter Abbi at the rodeo recently. She was in the pre- rodeo show grand entry. It was so fun!

Sometimes paperwork and other things that are necessary - leave so little time for creating. I've been working on a secret Sister Challenge quilt which will be revealed when we go to Paducah, KY for the AQS Quilt Week there! I'll make up for the time not spent quilting there as we have a busy schedule. Stay tuned here for updates and lots of inspiration!! Plus, I will post a revel picture of both of our challenge quilts. We have to use fabric we got or had left over from our last Sister trip 2 years ago, when we took a week long class with Gloria Laughman from Australia. That was in Santa Fe, NM. Fun week!

We are taking classes on some fun and interesting new techniques. The two day class - and the major one we are taking is with Teacher: Manke, Sally. I'll post the pic in this so you can see the project we are making. It's actually quite large! Blooming Windmill Art Quilt! Some cool things we will be learning: Besides piecing, we will be doing Dresden plate, bias tape applique, fabric weaving, and unique fusible and raw-edge appliqué. Can't wait! Then we will move on to a class with Teacher: Joyce Hughes, on Dimensional Thread Painting: making a Poppy with Bluebird. We are going to a concert by Ricky Tims. Ricky is master storyteller, composer, and performing artist (piano). Very much looking forward to that too! Lastly, we plan to go to the All Star Review where we will see demonstrations and meet and greet artists! And then there's the show with all the quilts and inspiration galore! It is from Aprill 23 - 26th. I am driving there from Texas and Jackie is driving there from Michigan.

I want to invite my workshop attendees/students to post their pictures of their projects.

Here is my project. It will come off today and then I can finish applique of the letters and putting it together. This project is provided by the Grace Company for their Grace machines. They gave me the size to make it based on my machine size.

I have a 15" midarm on a 4' frame. Perfect for my studio and for the projects I will quilt. (I have the other section in the garage, in case I ever wanted to extend it to 8' too). But it is perfect! My wonderful hubby put wheels on the frame so now it's able to be moved and that is awesome so that I can get to my design wall, when I am creating a new large piece. So, Yay! I am so excited!!!

Merry Christmas to all my friends and followers! I hope you have a very special Christmas and very Happy New Year!

I wish I could show you some cool new quilts, but had an injury that took me out for over 4 months. I’m just now getting back on my feet and more back to normal.

I did take a recuperation cruise and saw these cool wild flamingos in Bonaire. Of course I had to paint them. I had already made a flamingo quilt because I really love these bright fellas! We took some pictures of Isis birds in Grand Cayman same trip- so that’ll be a project down the road.
