🐝🌼 The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is happening today & tomorrow — August 21st & 22nd! 🌼🦋

It’s as easy as three steps:

1. WATCH 🌸
Pick one blooming plant and watch it closely for 15 minutes.

2. COUNT 🐝
Count every pollinator that lands on your plant and sort them into the eight simple groups on the count sheet.

3. SUBMIT 📝
Enter your counts online so they can join thousands of observations from across the Southeast.

We’re excited to share that our new website is now live! Whether you’re looking for our hours, learning more about what we offer, or just wanting to see what’s new at Bittinger & Co., it’s all just a click away.

While nothing replaces wandering through the garden center in person, our website is a great place to stay connected and learn a little more about us.

And we’re not finished yet! Our online shopping page is currently in the works and will be added soon, making it even easier to shop with us from wherever you are.

Today Vinny celebrated his Sweet 16! Sixteen years of wagging tails, stealing hearts, and making Bittinger & Co. feel a little more like home.

He celebrated the best way he knows how—with a birthday cake from The Bougie Pet Boutique (which he wasted no time digging into!), plenty of love, and visits from so many of his favorite people.

He’s been the official greeter, nap supervisor, treat inspector, and friend to everyone who walks through our doors. Watching so many of you stop by to celebrate him reminded us just how loved this little dachshund truly is.

Thank you to everyone who came by, wished him a happy birthday, brought him treats, or simply gave him a scratch behind the ears. You helped make his Sweet 16 one he’ll never forget.

Here’s to many more years with our sweet Vinny. 🐾

🎉 You’re Invited to Vinny’s Sweet 16! 🎉

Our favorite little greeter is turning 16 on Tuesday, July 28, and we think that’s something worth celebrating! 🐾

Stop by Bittinger & Co. to wish Vinny a happy birthday. We’ll have a birthday cake for Vinny (don’t worry—it’s dog-friendly!) and cake for the humans, too!

Bring your pups along, snap a birthday photo with the birthday boy, and help us celebrate the little dachshund who has greeted so many of you since we opened our doors.

We just received another load of the beloved Peggy Martin Rose, and if you know, you know — these always go fast.

Often called the “Hurricane Katrina Rose,” the Peggy Martin rose became famous after surviving weeks of flooding during Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana. Even after being submerged under water for days, it bounced back and bloomed stronger than ever. Talk about resilience.

Gardeners love Peggy Martins because they are:
• Extremely vigorous climbers
• Covered in soft, romantic pink blooms each spring
• Nearly thornless (which makes them easy to train and handle)
• Disease resistant and low maintenance
• Perfect for arbors, fences, trellises, and even large trees

Once established, they can grow 15–20 feet or more, creating a stunning cascade of blooms that stops people in their tracks.
