We just received another load of the beloved Peggy Martin Rose, and if you know, you know — these always go fast.

Often called the “Hurricane Katrina Rose,” the Peggy Martin rose became famous after surviving weeks of flooding during Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana. Even after being submerged under water for days, it bounced back and bloomed stronger than ever. Talk about resilience.

Gardeners love Peggy Martins because they are:
• Extremely vigorous climbers
• Covered in soft, romantic pink blooms each spring
• Nearly thornless (which makes them easy to train and handle)
• Disease resistant and low maintenance
• Perfect for arbors, fences, trellises, and even large trees

Once established, they can grow 15–20 feet or more, creating a stunning cascade of blooms that stops people in their tracks.

We’d like to share a small but important update with you.

After a lot of thought and careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to begin passing along the credit card processing fee on card transactions rather than raising prices across the board. This change will go into effect May 1, 2026.

Instead of adjusting prices on every plant, pot, and product in the shop, we felt this approach would be the most transparent and fair. It allows customers who prefer to pay with cash or check to avoid the fee, while also helping us keep our everyday pricing as steady and accessible as possible.

These decisions are never easy for us to make. We are truly committed to offering quality plants and products with honesty and care, and being open with you is an important part of that.

We are deeply grateful for your continued support of our small business—it truly means more than we can say. Thank you for being part of Bittinger & Co.

A couple of new little helpers have moved in at Bittinger & Co.

We just discovered two baby groundhogs living at the shop, and they’ve already made themselves right at home in the hillside. Safe to say they’re enjoying the garden life… and maybe sampling a few things along the way.

We’ll be keeping an eye on these tiny neighbors as they grow — they’re already stealing everyone’s hearts. 🐾

Nature always finds a way to be part of the garden.

We’re celebrating ONE YEAR of Bittinger & Co and we’d love for you to celebrate with us!

Join us Saturday, April 4th | 9AM–5PM as we mark our first year with a day full of good food, sweet treats, and a little shopping.

We’ll have a beautiful spread from Sweet Olive Eats Catering , red velvet cake by C A K E S B Y A L L Y , and the cutest sugar cookies from Twice as Sweet .

Plus, The Bougie Pet Boutique will be popping up with some adorable finds for your furry friends. 🐾

There’s something magical about native azaleas — airy, natural, and perfectly at home in your garden. Their blooms add a soft pop of color, gentle movement, and a delicate, sweet fragrance that makes every corner feel alive.

Want them to thrive? Morning sun or dappled shade works best (more sun = more blooms!), keep the soil moist, mulch to protect roots, and give them a light prune after blooming to stay graceful year after year.

Our Bittinger & Co sign is getting ready to go up, and we couldn’t be more excited. Seeing it come together makes everything feel a little more real — and a little more official.

It’s hard to believe how fast this year has flown by. What started as a dream rooted in love and passion has truly come to life in the most beautiful way. Watching this space grow — filled with plants, people, laughter, and community — has meant more than I can put into words.
