Holy Moly… it’s already December. You know what that means, It’s that time of the year again! Well the most wonderful time of the year for some or the most stressful time of the year for others.
I have recently watched “A Bad Moms Christmas” and I am taking something they emphasized to heart.
If we try so hard and put so much pressure on ourselves to be picture perfect and do all the festive things that the holidays aren’t actually enjoyable for ourselves and ends up not being fun for our family, what is the friggin point?
✨Moderation is key. My new goal is to do one festive thing a week- see a tree lighting, get together for cookie decorating with family and friends, go to a Xmas tree farm, etc.
One thing a weekend is fun and festive enough to give my kiddo something to look forward to all week but low key enough where I am not a stress ball.
✨Roll out the Holiday decorations all month. I learned this as a toddler hack from another Mama. This keeps things fresh and fun for your littles all month and helps keep you less stressed about having to get everything done at once- because let’s be serious- I have never completed a complex task like that in one sitting after having kids.
So after Thanksgiving, I tackled the play room. We hung up some garland and switched out our orange nugget cover to a green one and put out the advent calendar. This weekend, I will decorate the tree and weekend the living room, and last the outside- maybe the weekend after. Give yourself some grace to roll things out. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
