All thing beautiful and good from this October wedding celebration.

Dramatic limelight hydrangeas, ruffled and textured foliage, sculpture inspired design and the most tender love story to accompany the day.

We cherish working with you on wedding days to bring intentionally designed flower suited to life. From working on one of a kind structural bases, to hand designing officiant books. Wrapping ribbons around bouquets to symbolize sisterly bonds…I mean the list truly goes on.

We are approaching the end of wedding season 2026 and we are delighted with how the season is *finally* coming to an end. (We love you all, we are just tired.) 2027 wedding bookings are full steam ahead and we cannot wait to see what future wedding seasons will hold.

For C & N we composed a series of abundant hydrangea clouds to line their head table at the Tokeneke Club, in Darien CT. Challenged with “how do we source hydrangeas in May?” Our incredible CA farming partners brought some agricultural *magic*

American grown wedding flowers have a special something about them. Being able to capitalize on in season blooms means we are able to bend our compositions to the whim of the season and craft wedding flowers intentionally designed for your wedding day.

Plush cream hydrangea, pops of dancing rudbeckia, and plump white garden roses are a sublime base for an abundant July bridal bouquet.

Could certainly get lost looking at the details of this bouquet forever!

It has come to my attention that I have STOPPED talking about what makes Three Roots *special* and I’d like to change that!

Yes, yes, yes, everyone you work with on your wedding in some capacity will bring their special something to your wedding day and this is what we’ve got! (Well, one of the things we’ve got.)

Since we opened in 2021 the team and I have been working towards providing a sustainable approach to wedding flowers. This means eliminating unnecessary single use plastics, sourcing American grown (hyper-local when possible), counseling you to design with in-season flowers and abandoning the use of floral foam!

Working sustainably is a labor of love that includes many hours of trouble shooting, problem solving, workshopping and scheming because the floral industry was not built to be eco-friendly! As we look ahead to 2027 and seasons to come we invite you to send us a message to learn about making your wedding flowers sustainable.

My favorite poem is “Flower in the Crannied Wall” by Lord Alfred Tennyson. This mid-19th century poem perfectly captures the Transcendental idea of the divine caught in the expression of nature. One informs the other and together they create harmony. To understand one is to know the other and when we are merged with either we find the other.

Yes, yes, maybe esoteric and frustrating to parse out but oh how I love those prose!

As a wedding florist I often find my role is to be united with my Transcendental friends. I tinker with stems and blooms to bring abundant visuals to life designed to tell stories otherwise lost to interior musings. In the small moments of expression, expansion and composition the truth of a couple’s love story springs to life and grows around them to fully bring their wedding days to life.

There is so much more to share and say but for now my lingering thoughts on the importance of working with a wedding florist who is interested in bringing their near impossible (love) to life through floral design.

What a wild and wacky wedding weekend!

A deceptively destructive nor’easter was NO MATCH for Kaitlyn & Alexis yesterday and what a positively delightful design and install day we enjoyed for these two.

…I think this is our third wedding in extreme conditions like this and wouldn’t ya know, we survived it again!

As an artist we are taught to consider all elements of a composition.

The same can be said for floral design. A living canvas intended to be thoughtfully composed to best express an intended story. More than just simply placing flowers in a vase there is always more behind a Three Roots design than meets the eye.

Inspired by the sun-drenched colors of late July this series of pieces call mind the rich chroma hues available in the height of summertime. Playing with height, texture and size the resulting piece is richly layered with details to linger over.

Hopefully some additional flower design days will be in sight soon…

There is a reason is color palette is a staple here at Three Roots. Effortlessly cohesive, subtle with a hint of chroma depth, and sourceable from American farms nearly all year round!
