The perfect rug can completely transform a room. It's all about finding the right balance of color, texture, pattern and scale to ground the space. Pictured is one of my top 10 favorites!

One of the greatest compliments I could receive is a repeat client. It means trust has been built, the process was enjoyable, and the finished space feels like home. Im incredibly grateful for clients who welcome me back for their next project. I'm sharing these photos with you today, not only because I'm thrilled with the new furniture that was delivered today, but because it's a home that I have gone room by room in to personalize and update for my client's and that is the highest form of flattery. This space is still not complete, but its certainly worth sharing this far. It has all the feels and brightened this dreary day!

Color is deeply personal for client's! It reflects their personality, lifestyle, and the way they feel in their space. The most successful designs come from understanding my client's relationship with color and how they relate to it on an emotional level. The next step is taking the colors that are meaningful to them and making sure they flow harmoniously from room to room. So when your client sees your renderings and says "It feels like home" it has all the feels!!

Last fall we started demo on my client's beloved old farmhouse. After multiple attempts to repair this property it was just not working out and the plan shifted to a complete tear down and rebuild of their forever home.
This homes original build date goes back to 1793 and was a pretty emotional undertaking for the family to decide to take this route so it was important to them to salvage some of the old beams and materials to use in the new home.
With the help of Everett's Excavation, during the tear down, we were able to remove the old beams and set them aside for when the time came. The skills of the excavation operator were so impressive. All of the crew was patient and helpful as the homeowner and I assisted with the process. We would literally point out specific beams we wanted and the crew made sure we got them.
Next, we had to convince Steve Pelletier that this brilliant idea was all going to be worth it. I think he thought we were all nuts, but we believed in his skill level and attention to detail.
With the help of the talented Chris Barstow and crew they were able to take our desired layout from renderings and pull everything together. The joinery is a complete work of art and looks so authentic. Came out better than expected. Even Steve was happy!
The level of collaboration it takes to make this dream come true for client's is elevated. It does not happen on all jobsites, but when it does it's a good reminder that greatness can be achieved!

I've felt a little distant from my social media account the last few weeks and I feel like this is the perfect time to connect with you all express my gratitude towards my client's, co-workers and friends.
A couple of months ago my dad got diagnosed with an advanced and aggressive cancer. My world and immediate families world got turned upside-down. It was extremely emptional and overwhelming. We went to so many appointments as we desperately tried to get him treatment and buy more time. Unfortunately, it was too advanced and the best we could do for his dignity was honor his final wishes and provide love and comfort at home. He passed away on May 16th.
My list of people to thank during this profoundly debilitating time is long, but I'm starting with my client's. They were all incredibly understanding, flexible and comforting. Not once did anyone make me feel bad for changing a meeting or appointment. They allowed my priorities to shift accordingly and be there for my parents on a daily basis. We laughed and cried together and shared memories and even sat in silence. I'm incredibly blessed to have the best and most caring client's ever.
Also, to the contractors and subs (including you, Jay). Thank you for your patience and kindness. And thank you for checking in, not only on deadlines and projects, but also my well-being. You all gently gave me space to breathe while keeping things moving along and on time.
Owning and operating a business is incredibly difficult on a regular day, but adding in sickness and loss can leave you floundering to complete even the smallest task. No amount of gratitude will ever be enough to thank those around me during this time. I'm confident I'm in the right career and have the best client's anyone could ever ask for! Thank you all, from the very bottom of my heart!
