This French style chandelier is gorgeous. I'm obsessed with the amethyst colored crystals throughout the piece.

My husband, Ted, is the mastermind behind the books available in my shops. So today, I thought I'd let him share a little about one of the most popular items that we offer: first edition Oz books!

"One of the reasons I enjoy collecting vintage Oz books is discovering old inscriptions. This book that just arrived is from 1920, one year after Baum passed. It's in delicate condition, and was clearly a Christmas present. The plates are really cool, as they have handwritten inscriptions, instead of text at the bottom of the page."

Happy Friday! We spent some time at my Simply Shiplap location last night bringing in some new inventory, as well as mixing things up with some that has just been *hanging around*. Get it?

Sorry.

Anyway, we switched out the amethyst in the test tube chandelier for crystal quartz, and the change is so dramatic!

Turned this old (broken) radio into a new display stand for my new sci-fi prints available in Shiplap & Chandeliers in Norwood. Making displays for the different prints is really a fun side task to break up the normal routine 🙂

This is why I call the crystals the "jewelry" of the chandelier. Finished removing all the crystal from the frame, cleaned all the glass. Now to move on to the ⚡️wiring⚡️

Time to get back to work! This chandelier has been patiently waiting for me to begin the restoration process. They'll be photographed, crystals all removed, cleaned and re-pinned. Then the metal will be bent back into shape, finish restored, rewired and assembled back so they can shine like it did the day it was made... which was somewhere around the 1920-1930s.

I can't wait to show you the finished project. Stay tuned!
