My kitty Clark Spotticus next to a crocheted sea turtle that I am almost done putting together. I enjoy using my cats in a photo with crochet works in progress to show the scale of what I’m making. Plus Clark is always a cute bubba. 🧶 🐈‍⬛ 🥰

I still need to sew the eyes on the head and attach the head to the body of the turtle. Then it will be done!

Clark Spotticus wants to remind us all to be kind, stay curious and support your local coffee shop. He also loves cat treats… a lot.

He wants you to visit his mom and dad at Sloth Coffee when they open this fall. Then they will be able to buy him endless treats, roast glorious coffee right in and his mom can have some crochet creations 🧶 for sale at the coffee shop!

In the meantime, he is busy keeping an eye on the birds, squirrels 🐿️, and hanging out with his sisters Willow Grace, Sylvie P**p Dragon 🐉 and Sh**ha Marie.

I love when nature surprises me. A pumpkin has decided to grow out of my compost bin thingy. Now I have to figure out how to let it become a full sized pumpkin.

When we bought the house it came with this “compost bin” and we don’t do much other than dump our coffee grounds and veggie scraps on top. The sides are made of wire stuff. So the back side, where the pumpkin is growing, doesn’t have much dirt and was bound by wire until I cut it yesterday ✂️.

Any theories on how to encourage an amazing pumpkin to appear by October?

Took some plants I had put in my yard and put them in this fun planter. Then added unicorn rubber ducky for some flair.

After I did it, I realized I should have added sand, given the type of succulents. I still found great joy and peace in the process of digging in the dirt and engaging the artistic side of my brain when I arranged the plants 🪴.

Adults, please give yourself permission to enjoy art like you did as a kid- it’s good for your soul. Draw a picture and be ok if it’s not perfect. Creating makes the heart happy. Bake cookies. Paint a picture. Build a bird house with your kid or nephew. Make some joy.

Today’s work in progress and my fluffy companion, Sylvie JoeAnne. She keeps running from window to window to keep an eye on the birds in the yard on all sides of our house. It keeps her quite busy.

The crochet pattern is written titled “meditative Mandala” by Mandy O’Sullivan. The pattern is from
“Crochet to Calm” and is a favorite library book find.
