Keeping my promise, here is a bit more about the 3D concrete printing I saw at Reform with ALNNJ. The talk was led by New Era 3D Concrete Printing, and it was an introduction to how this technology is starting to change the way we build, from the ground up in the most literal sense. Picture a printer raising a wall layer by layer, following a digital design, no formwork in sight, no weeks of setup before the real work even begins. I do not have all the answers yet, I am just beginning to understand the full scope of it and what it could mean for our industry, but I can tell you I left that room with my head full of ideas and a long list of questions I want to keep exploring. That is what it feels like to keep learning after all these years in this profession, still curious, still a little surprised, and it is exactly why I keep showing up to these meetings.
Construction is changing, and as architects we have a responsibility to pay attention, to ask questions, and to understand where it is headed before it happens around us.

Networking, learning, and a little bit of wonder, that is how I would describe this evening at Reform in Paramus with the ALNNJ community. If you have not been to their showroom, it is worth the trip just to see how they think about kitchens and everyday living. The topic of the night was 3D concrete printing, a small preview of a much bigger conversation I will bring to you soon, because it is too interesting to rush through in one post. What stayed with me most was not the technology itself but the people in that room, still hungry to learn, still showing up for each other, still willing to sit through a presentation on a Wednesday night because they care about doing this work well. That is the kind of architecture community I want to belong to, and the kind I hope to keep building here too, one honest conversation at a time.
