Permanent lighting isn't just for the front of the house. Patios, covered porches and outdoor living spaces are actually some of our favorite places to install it.

Bright white when you just want some extra light.
Team colors for game day.
Red and green for Christmas.
Different colors for a party or holiday.
Or something completely different just because you feel like it.

Same patio. Same lights. Completely different look.

And the best part is you don't have to hang anything up or take anything back down.

When we decided to offer permanent lighting, we didn't automatically go with the first system we found.

We looked at the options.

Because if we're going to put our name behind something and install it on someone's house for years, we need to actually believe in it.

We looked at the track.
The app.
The warranty.
The safety ratings.
The product quality.
And just as importantly, the company standing behind it when something goes wrong.

We could have gone with another permanent lighting system.

After looking under the hood, we chose Gemstone Lights.

And we still feel really good about that decision.

We get asked a lot what businesses actually use permanent exterior lighting for outside of Christmas.

Quite a bit.

Restaurants can change colors for events or game days.

Retail locations can match promotions or holidays.

Companies can display their brand colors.

Venues can change the building for different events.

And on a normal night, almost all of them can go right back to a clean warm white.

That's one of the biggest advantages of permanent lighting for a commercial property.

The building doesn't have to look like Christmas all year.

It can look however you want it to look that day.

This time of year gets a little crazy around here.

Permanent lighting installs are going every day.
Christmas lighting season is getting started.

Clark and Matt are bouncing between estimates.

Materials are coming in and going right back out.

And the install schedule seems to change about 14 times before lunch.

It's definitely our busiest time of year.

But it's also pretty cool to look at how much the company has grown.

A few years ago, Clark was doing most of these installs himself.

Now there are crews out installing while he's running around trying to keep everything else moving.

Still plenty of chaos. Just a different kind now.

Okay… this one turned out GOOD. 😍

Permanent lighting completely changes the look of this home — and the best part is, this isn't just for Christmas.

Warm white for everyday accent lighting. Team colors for game day. Holiday colors. Custom patterns. All controlled right from your phone.

And when the lights are off? They're designed to disappear into the roofline.
