Candle Hour.
When my kids were teenagers, we had a long power outage on a winter weekend day. And we spent it in the living room with candles and a fire playing board games. We all had so much fun that everybody was a bit disappointed when the lights came back on. Since then, Iā€™ve tried to have some candle time on a Sunday afternoon. Today was perfect with the rain and dark skies. And no screens (except this post.) just actual paper books. šŸ„°

Restarting the practice of candle hour. When my kids were younger, we had a power outage for most of the day and spent it in the living room with a fire and candles, playing board games. We had such fun that everybody was disappointed when the power came back on. After that, we tried to have an hour every day with no screens, and sit in candlelight and read. A good antidote to the craziness of the day.
