Virgin Timber Lumber Co. Wood Outlet Covers, Wood Light Switch Covers - Made in WV-USA In the year 1870, 2/3 of West Virginia's original virgin forest existed as untouched wilderness.

Living for centuries, trees in this primal forest grew heights of over 200 feet with amazing girth and stature. By 1920, logging and fire had completely decimated all but a few small stands of virgin timber in the state. Virgin timber lumber is strikingly different from lumber milled from second and third growth forest trees. Living a majority of their lives in a shaded environment, trees in the v

irgin forest grew very slowly. This translates into lumber with extremely tight growth rings and complex grain patterns. Adding an additional layer of interest and complexity are the years of use after the lumber was cut. Original saw marks, stained nail holes, worm holes, weathering and distress, and oxidation (darkening and reddening of color tone) from years of exposure to the open air make each piece of lumber (and furniture) interesting and unique.

New construction bulldozes old houses every day, and I’m thrilled to provide a new life for this special quality of wood that we will never see again. While utilizing locally sourced high quality wood like oak and maple, I use just as much reclaimed wood such as walnut, chestnut, and cherry.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I ordered wall plates in walnut for a highly decorated and styled event space. All of them turned out great, and they looked so much more elegant than the standard plastic ones. John was very communicative and worked with me to create a custom plate to accommodate a CAT5 data port. He was kind enough to finish the plates as well, and I was very happy with the finished product. If we need more wooden plates in the future, we'll definitely be ordering from here!
