We will never forget where we were 25 years ago today. Our thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims and to those that continue to deal with its aftermath today. We remember the brave firefighters, police officers, and others who risked and lost their lives to save others that fateful day. Never forget 9/11 and the sense of national unity we all felt in its aftermath. We will remember. This is Alabama Sweet Home Alabama

Another whirlwind week! We spent some time yesterday afternoon at the Woodruff-Fontaine House Museum on 'Millionaire's Row,' Adams Street in Memphis. Only a handful of the over 60 houses that once adorned the street remain. The Fontaine House was saved from the wrecking ball in the 1960's along with several of its neighbors. The architectural details in the home are outstanding. Enjoy! The bell đź”” is on the move! It was a real honor to sign the contract last week as President of the Wilcox Historical Society with Chris Pringle Construction to start the $550,000 restoration of our headquarters, the Wilcox Female Institute, Circa 1850. Even more exciting was watching the original solid bronze bell, Circa 1850, be pulled out of the basement after 50 years! It is on its way to Cincinnati, Ohio, to be restored and tuned before being rehung after at least a half century. When complete, we will have a state-of-the-art facility that will once again be the center of our community. Follow the progress as we Raise the Bell in Wilcox County! Tonight, at home in historic Furman. The sky was just beautiful tonight. I stopped on my way to the Post Office to get this great picture of my neighbor's family home Wakefield, Circa 1847. It has been an honor working with Sylvia and Tom to return original furniture and mirrors to this magnificent home. Then it was back to my Magnolia Glen, Circa 1833, to enjoy the evening. We hope you had a wonderful Labor Day. Thank you for your continued support!
