Goodbye Wonderland...Hello New Paths:
Well this message was originally supposed to go out Sunday evening January 6th, 2019. Life decided that we would have to wait…So, First and foremost I have to thank the thousands of customers, the many vendors of the years, but especially Margaret Young, Ann Brisi, Linda Smith, Traci Codde, Marci Schellman, Tom and Lollie Christner-Severin, Cindy Perreira, and the unbelievable Debbie And Tony Mello, who without them I would never had been able to open the doors (They were also my first official vendor), I would like to dedicate “Oakdale In Wonderland’s 6 Year Legacy to our beloved vendor Jenny Thompson who was taken from us way to soon a few years ago at the hands of a horrible human being. I thank the great people who have become friends, our shops fans and families, the other businesses and their owners, Pamyla Madonna At “Pamyla’s”, Patty At ‘At The Corner”, Jenny At “Rustic Roots”, Linda At “Femme Briclouse”, Trina At “Past & Present”, Alexandra At “Alexandra’s”, Suzy and crew at “Suzy Belens”, Laura at “Blue Sky Market”, Sherry at “Dorthey Janes”, “The Spotted Cow”,“ Café Bliss”, everyone at “Cahoots”, “Moss Rose Bakery”, “Bordona’s”, “Windmill Furniture” and so many more who have supported, welcomed, and showed kindness to me and our little Wonderland (Oakdale In Wonderland) for the past 6 Years, along with the support to our other shops, locations, events, and event venue we created, without Oakdale In Wonderland none of those others would have existed. (“Wonderland Emporium”, “The Mad Hatter’s Loft”, “The Hatter & The Flea” “The Cheshire Cat”, & ” Wonderland’s Curiousity Shoppe”).
Our Oakdale In Wonderland was always our roots. It was truly an honor, a blessing, and a dream come true to have created such a wonderful place for Oakdale and the surrounding area. Although, all the above people, vendors, and friends were in fact the most important elements to our successes, I must say it could not have been done without the support of my family, late nights of moving, creating, lifting, decorating, working and putting up with this crazy Mad Hatter, so I have to thank them for being that extra bit of wonderfulness in our wonderland, my sister Regina, my Niece Sarina, my nephews Jonathan and Christian, my parents Reggie And Russell (Sr), my beloved husband Chris, my very best friend and one of the original vendors (The Oakdale Gypsy) Paula Jaramillo, these people held me up during this journey., and helped me shine so bright. They will never be able to know how much it means to me.
Now as I close this chapter, I will share with you my next chapter On Feb 2, 2019 I with a silent partner will open “Refined139”, a new boutique with furniture, gifts, home décor, clothing and more! I will also be returning to my interior design and staging profession with my new design studio/house called “Mad One Designs” coming mid-February. I will also be launching some new projects and surprises as well. I can’t wait to share it with you!
So, as for the delay of this message, on Sunday January 6th, 2019, just hours after closing the doors of “Oakdale In Wonderland”, My father who many of you know from all his time at the shop, was admitted into the hospital, the following day we learned he has Pancreatic Cancer, so as I close this chapter and get ready for the next I ask everyone, for prayers, and well wishes/thoughts for My father, Family and me as we go through this chapter and his treatment. I believe in the power of positivity and consciousness. I, this crazy little Mad Hatter says Thank you all again for the love, support, kindness, and more you have given me and my little Wonderland!
Much Luv, Hugz, And Peace To You And Yours!
