This toy chest was a gift to my baby niece 🦥 My great granddaddy built this tool chest in the 50s and it has passed down through our family since. In our home growing up, it was a bright turquoise coffee table. I love sentimental pieces and I had so much fun working on the illustration and the timeline.

How do you feel about yellow?

I think this debate is a bit like pineapple on pizza- you either love it or hate it. I’m obviously on the LOVE end of the spectrum, but I try not to take it personal when I come across someone who is offended by it 😅

Regardless of your preference, though, these live edge shelves deserve some love ❤️

Vintage Cavalier Hope Chest Makeover ✨

I wanted to give this hope chest a modern update without completely doing away with the original wood design. I’m also glad I decided on the painted leaf design. The organic elements paired so well with the geometric patterns.

Designing a kitchen for a small house was challenging. I was so happy to discover that they made 24in ranges! It solved all my layout issues. I also know that I sacrificed storage space for these live edge open shelves, but I had a vision and I just couldn’t let it go 😅 and whatever inconvenience it has caused me has been worth it because I love how it all came together!

Side table makeover ✨

I’ve had this piece for years. It was in good shape but a little outdated with its red wood tone. I had a few paint designs, but after sanding, I couldn’t cover up the wood. I decided to accent with a splash of white and am so happy with the simple, finished look!
