The Atomic Cat Collection Just Got a Little Bigger! ✨

Our Atomic Cat has been making himself right at home in the studio, and apparently mugs and clocks just weren't enough for him! 😂

The latest addition to our growing Mid-Century Modern Atomic Cat Collection is our new Stoneware Sipper Mug!

Featuring that unmistakable sleek black cat, curious yellow eyes, and colorful atomic-inspired stars, this one brings a little 1950s retro charm to your favorite cold drinks.

We love how the black cat and colorful details stand out against our speckled glaze. And, of course, each one is hand-built and hand-glazed right here in our Oberlin, Ohio studio.

We're starting to think this cat has plans to take over the entire pottery collection. 🐈‍⬛😂

🍂☕ Mugshot Monday — Ginkgo Leaf Edition!

This week's Mugshot Monday features our little 8 oz Ginkgo Leaf Mug, made with our rich chocolate clay!

One of the things we love about working with chocolate clay is how beautifully it contrasts with our cream glaze. The darker clay helps bring out all the fine details in those distinctive, fan-shaped ginkgo leaves. And on this mug, that combination gives it a wonderful earthy, almost ancient look.

Speaking of ancient, here are a few fun facts about ginkgo trees!

🍃 Living fossils! Ginkgo trees belong to a lineage that dates back more than 200 million years, long before humans walked the Earth.

🍃 One of a kind! The ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba) is the only surviving species of an ancient group of trees, with no close living relatives.

🍃 Beautiful fall color! Ginkgo leaves turn a brilliant golden yellow in autumn, and sometimes a tree will drop most of its leaves in just a day or two!

There's something pretty special about putting a design with that much history onto a little handmade mug.

And with the leaves changing here in Ohio, it seemed like a fitting choice for an October Mugshot Monday! 🍁

Mothman Sightings Are on the Rise! 👀

It seems like Mothman has been showing up in more and more places lately, and apparently he's decided the bathroom is his next stop! 😂

Our mysterious, red-eyed friend has made his way onto our NEW Handmade Stoneware Lotion & Soap Pumps!

We're not sure what Mothman is trying to tell us, but we're pretty sure it's something along the lines of "Wash your hands!" 🧼

Each pump is handmade right here in our Oberlin studio, and just like Mothman sightings, no two are exactly alike.

Keep your eyes open. You never know where he'll show up next! 🔴👀

🦖 Gnomeshot Friday — Meet Brandon! 🎃

Brandon has a bit of a prehistoric obsession!

With dinosaurs covering his body, he's convinced he was born about 65 million years too late. 😂

But Brandon has discovered something he loves almost as much as dinosaurs… pumpkin season!

He's been spending his mornings wandering through the pumpkins and gourds, studying all their unusual shapes and sizes. In fact, he's pretty sure a few of these strange-looking gourds could pass for dinosaur eggs.

We've tried explaining the difference, but Brandon isn't convinced.

And now he's insisting we keep an eye on the big gray pumpkin behind him… just in case something hatches. 🦕😂

Happy Gnomeshot Friday from Brandon! 🍂
