Our Story

Ten years ago I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. I was crippled and in intense pain. I literally prayed that God would use my hands to create something beautiful since my legs were not working the way they should. Painting became a part of my healing and a way for me to focus on something other than my pain.

In 2016, The Reclaimed Treasures was created by me and my former business partner, Denise. At the time, we had both escaped life threatening medical issues. I had been in a car accident and an incidental finding was a brain aneurysm. It was a tough few months but Denise and I decided to press through. The name “Reclaimed” isn’t about home decor or furniture. To me, it about reclaiming each day for joy and being thankful for the gift of today.

Although I love to paint furniture and to sell items in my shop, my focus is to reach the hearts of those who enter my doors. Each person has value. Each person has a story. Sometimes my customers just need to “be”. We have laughed together and we have cried together. I have been inspired by my customers, challenged, and sharpened. What a gift this is to be a part of!

So who am I? I am a Christian, a wife to my best friend (he is my biggest cheerleader by the way), and a mother to four incredible children and a son-in law that I adore. I’m a furniture artist and lover of DIY.
