Jo's Blooms is a custom floral design studio that creates beautiful and unique permanent flower arrangements, custom trees and topiaries for commercial and residential settings. We work with interior designers and private clients throughout the tri-state area, and as far away as California and Florida. The owner JoAnn Kudisher and associates have created permanent floral arrangements, plants, tree
s and topiaries that are designed and constructed in residential or commercial settings. Each permanent creation is customized to complement a room--whether it is, simple and modern, formal and grand, or traditional. The container is also integral to the design concept. It can be provided by the client, chosen by the interior designer, or selected by Jo’s Blooms (vintage or antique pieces). Jo’s Blooms uses flowers and foliage that come from many sources around the country. Flowers and leaves are made of silk, velvet, parchment or synthetic material with either hand wrapped or molded stems. These materials can also be custom tinted to more accurately complement a room’s palette. We also use natural materials, such as freeze dried flowers, which remain malleable unlike air-dried flowers. Handmade trees of any height are created using natural tree limbs with a range of permanent foliage. Permanent blossoms of any color attached to real quince branches make beautiful flowering arrangements. Also, at holiday time Jo's Blooms offers inside and outside decorating with both fresh and permanent materials. JoAnn Kudisher opened her floral design studio in 1983, after more than a decade in education and a lifetime of arranging flowers. Her formal training was obtained at Parsons School of Design in New York City under a grant from the Business and Professional Women of Millburn-Short Hills. While at Parsons, Jo studied with floral and film set designer, Cory Davenport (Sophie’s Choice, Tootsie, Kramer vs. During a trip to London, she participated in a class at the Moyses-Stevens School where she studied “Old World Floral Design” echoing the floral arrangements rendered in 16th and 17th century Flemish painting.
