Some rooms are missing color. Others are missing texture.

That’s one reason woven wood shades have become such a popular choice. Their natural fibers and distinctive weaves add warmth, depth, and visual interest to a window without making the space feel heavy or overdone. They work beautifully with everything from relaxed coastal interiors to modern, organic spaces.

Add an optional liner when you need greater privacy or light control, and you get natural beauty with everyday functionality.

At Window Designs by Landy Brown, we’ll help you find woven wood shades that bring just the right amount of texture and warmth to your home.

Love the look of wood at your windows? You have more than one way to get it.

Wood shutters offer a substantial, built-in appearance that can highlight the architecture of your windows. Their adjustable louvers provide excellent control over light and privacy, while genuine wood brings natural warmth and character to the room.

Faux wood blinds offer a similar warm, classic look with a different construction and typically a more budget-friendly price point. They’re also durable and easy to maintain, making them a practical option for busy spaces.

The right choice comes down to the look, functionality, and investment you want for your home. At Window Designs by Landy Brown, we’ll help you compare your options and find the perfect fit for your windows.

Bathrooms and kitchens ask a little more from your window treatments.

Because these spaces are regularly exposed to humidity, splashes, and changing temperatures, moisture-resistant composite or synthetic shutters can be a smart alternative to traditional wood. You still get the timeless, tailored look of shutters—plus easy-to-clean surfaces, excellent privacy, and adjustable light control.

At Window Designs by Landy Brown, we’ll help you choose shutters made to handle the demands of your space while looking beautiful for years to come.

Ever wonder why some drapery looks rich and luxurious while other panels seem a little flat? Fabric fullness makes a big difference.

Fullness refers to how much fabric is used compared with the width of your window or drapery rod. More fullness creates deeper folds and a softer, more substantial appearance, while less fullness produces a cleaner, more streamlined look.

The ideal amount also depends on the fabric, pleat style, and overall look you want to achieve—which is why custom drapery is about much more than simply choosing a beautiful fabric.

At Window Designs by Landy Brown, we’ll help you get every detail right, from fabric and fullness to pleat style and hardware.

Wish your windows looked a little bigger? You may not need to change the windows at all.

The way custom drapery is positioned can completely change their proportions. Installing the drapery hardware above the window frame draws the eye upward, creating the illusion of taller windows and higher ceilings. Extending the rod beyond each side of the window allows the fabric to frame the glass rather than cover it, making the window appear wider and letting more natural light into the room when the panels are open.

Add properly sized, floor-length panels, and even an average-sized window can suddenly feel much more substantial.

At Window Designs by Landy Brown, we’ll help you choose the right drapery length, fullness, hardware placement, and fabric to flatter your windows and enhance the proportions of your entire room.

Are your blinds starting to show their age?

Bent or broken slats, difficult operation, discoloration, frayed cords, or blinds that no longer close properly are all signs it may be time for an upgrade. And sometimes, your blinds still work—they just no longer fit the style or needs of your home.

New custom blinds can give your windows a fresh look while improving everyday light control, privacy, and ease of use.

At Window Designs by Landy Brown, we’ll help you replace outdated blinds with a custom solution designed for your windows and the way you live.

Big windows deserve to be enjoyed—but all that glass can also mean glare, heat, and a lot less privacy.

Roller shades are a great option for large windows because their streamlined design provides coverage without adding visual bulk. With the right fabric, you can filter harsh sunlight, reduce glare, increase privacy, or create a darker room when needed. And for especially wide or hard-to-reach windows, motorization can make adjusting your shades effortless.

Proper measuring and product selection are especially important with oversized windows. At Window Designs by Landy Brown, we’ll help you choose roller shades that are designed to fit your windows beautifully and provide the light control your space needs.

Small windows need the right proportions, too.

For compact windows, blinds with slimmer slats and a clean, tailored fit can provide privacy and precise light control without making the window feel crowded. Choosing the right material, color, and mounting style can also help a smaller window feel more open and intentional.

At Window Designs by Landy Brown, we’ll help you find custom blinds that fit your smaller windows beautifully while making the most of every inch.
