This Veterans Day we are remembering our founder Dick Webber who passed away this September at the age of 97. A WWII veteran, entrepreneur, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and lover of God and Country.

Flag Etiquette - with the Fourth of July holiday coming up we would like to share a few tips on flag etiqutte.

🇺🇸 The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard.

🇺🇸 The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman, and members of patriotic organizations.

🇺🇸 The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind.

Flag Day is celebrated annually on June 14 to commemorate the adoption of the U.S. flag on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. The flag symbolizes the pride of our nation and serves as a constant reminder of those in the military who fight to protect our country and our freedom.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending a Flag Retirement Ceremony hosted/sponsored by LibertyFest Edmond's Fourth of July Festival

Our very own, Dick Webber was in attendance. Pictured in the American Flag shirt.

The ceremony was sponsored by Fire Department VFW Post 4938, VFW Post 4938 Auxiliary, Boy Scout Post 349, DAR.

Did you know there are specific rules for retiring a flag?

Many people have never heard of a flag retirement and disposal ceremony. We wanted to share some information on the purpose of the ceremony.

"The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning." The Flag Code does not actually give specifics on how to destroy the flag. One should use common sense making sure the procedure is in good taste and shows no disrespect for the flag. Many of the following organizations have collections in your local community to collect and perform a flag burning ceremony: American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Mayor, City Hall or other patriotic organizations.
