I absolutely love my monthly Japanese calligraphy class. Now I have more beautiful art for my walls and a better understanding of this amazing art form. The first picture is Yume, or Dream. The second is Musuko, meaning Son. I'm hanging that one in my kiddo's room because he's always making artwork for me. My turn!

I attended my first calligraphy class today! Japanese calligraphy is called shodō. The first means Friendship, the second is Harmony, and the last one is my name in Kanji. I had so much fun learning a new art form! Have you tried shodō? Let me know what you thought!

This picture popped up in my memories today and I had to share. This is my cousin Jessie. She's the one who taught me to crochet and prompted a lifelong love of craftiness, yarn and design! After she passed I was given a box of some of her wips and finished makes. Inside I found this beautiful floral granny square with the instructions in her own handwriting. The Veleila pocket shawl was born and each time I wear it it's like a big hug from this sweet lady I miss so much.

Hello Lovelies! I'm super excited to announce that I had two patterns featured with for June. Sorry for the late post, but I was trying to avoid spoilers for subscribers. Featured is the Daydream Shawlette (knit) and the Saguaro Nights Scarf, both inspired by my love of flowers of the southwest.
Unfortunately, the pattern in DGY's booklet was printed with some typos. If you got this box, please take a selfie with the booklet or yarn, tag me in it and I'll make sure that you get both updated patterns so you can get started on your favorite. 💕
