This old seed cabinet just came home with me from the feed store in Newcastle, the same place my mom and I used to go every single year for her garden seeds. We’d walk those aisles, pick out packets, and every time she’d glance at this cabinet and say something about how much she loved it. I always did too.
They finally decided to retire, and somehow this piece of history ended up in my house. The original vintage seed packets are still on the drawers, sunflowers, carrots, the whole story of seasons past still right there on the front. And they even included some of the old scoops. I feel so blessed.
It’s more than furniture. It’s a quiet little piece of the years my mom and I shared, still standing, still full of potential.
Grateful doesn’t even cover it.

Found this sweet mid century chest of drawers tucked away in a barn a week or two ago and knew she had potential.
After a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint (basically just slapped a little lipstick on her, like kids used to say!), she’s looking pretty and ready for her next chapter.
She’ll be heading to the Shop 405 booth very soon. I can’t wait for someone to fall in love with her the way I did when I first spotted her.
There’s just something special about pulling these quiet pieces out of barns, giving them a little love, and watching them come back to life.

This morning I wasn’t looking for anything special, and then I found this.
At an estate sale I spotted a little red Bostitch stapler sitting there, and my heart stopped. Because for years I’ve kept the matching tape dispenser that belonged to my mom.
She worked in the educational field for Oklahoma City Public Schools and carried this same vintage Scotch tape dispenser from school to school. I still use it every Christmas when I’m wrapping gifts, it’s always felt like having a little piece of her with me.
Today I finally found the matching stapler. I never thought I would. Going through old pictures later, I spotted it sitting right behind her at her desk, with my two little boys in her arms.
I think that’s why I got into this business. You never know what you’re going to find at an antique store that will bring back a flood of memories and hold so dear to your heart. Today it was just a stapler.

You just never know what you’re gonna find when you’re out exploring these old barns in the country. A few items here and there,some old, some new, but every trip brings great treasures that warm my heart.
That’s the magic of country living, the past is still standing strong, full of stories, and you never know what little piece of history (or future favorite) you’ll discover next. I absolutely love it.
Grateful for these simple adventures and all the beauty they bring.

Y’all… it’s 100° in Oklahoma and I’m out here trying to make some beautiful autumn decor.
Instead I’m making THIS hot mess express.
A sad, crumpled pile of “what was I thinking?” with extra wrinkles, and zero structural integrity. I’m two seconds away from yeeting the whole thing straight into the trashcan and calling it performance art.
(Yes I said yeet… I’m old but I’m trying to stay hip okay 😂)
Real talk though, if you’ve ever had a craft project go full dumpster fire, you’re not alone. We see the perfect finished photos… but behind every one is usually a pile just like this.
So here’s my official “I tried” exhibit. Send help, prayers, or your own embarrassing craft fails in the comments. Misery loves company and I brought snacks.
We WILL rise from these ashes… probably after I drink a giant iced tea and pretend this never happened.
