Good design doesn’t just happen. It’s a process. Here’s what working with us actually looks like.

When I walk into a home for the first time, I can usually see its potential pretty quickly: what it could become, what walls might need to move, and how it could function differently, but getting to know our clients and understanding how they want to live is really the beginning.

Good design is so much more than picking furniture and lighting. It’s space planning. Engineering. The right materials, the right trades, the right communication every step of the way.
That’s why we use a step-by-step project management system on every single project (interior design, renovation, or both) to ensure a successful outcome every time, and is true to your vision.
At the end of the project, my goal is simple: I want you to feel like we truly listened and that we captured everything you hoped and dreamed of. Maybe even a little more. ✨

This kitchen hadn't been touched since the 1970s. We changed everything.

This kitchen hadn't been touched since the 1970s. We changed everything.
The original layout had a tiny island too small to be useful, surrounded by a peninsula that worked like a corral — trapping the cook, killing the traffic flow, and cutting them off from the rest of the house.

We tore it all out and started over.

Now a massive custom island anchors the space, positioned directly across from the 48" Thermador cooktop and diagonally from the 48" refrigerator - a proper kitchen triangle that actually works. The ornate raised-panel cabinets came down. Shaker-style doors went up, with seeded glass and custom storage built into every inch. An arabesque marble backsplash, a statement range hood, and polished nickel pendants did the rest.

Same footprint. Completely different life.

This is what full-service design and remodeling looks like — not just making a kitchen prettier, but making it work the way it should have all along.

đź’ľ Save this if your kitchen layout is working against you. And if you're ready to change that, DM us the word KITCHEN to start the conversation.

Behind every finished space is a whole lot of this. 👇

From studio to job site, this is what a typical day at Design Directions looks like.
Mood boards, measurements, client calls, material sourcing, on-site installs, crawling into attic spaces, and it’s all happening, usually all at once. This is what full-service design and remodeling looks like from the inside. It’s not just pretty rooms, it’s every decision, every site visit, every detail managed so you don’t have to think about it.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s actually like to work with a designer, this is it.

💾 Save this, and if you’re ready to hand off the hard part, DM us to start the conversation.

39 decisions you need to make BEFORE your bathroom remodel starts.

We tagged every single one in this bathroom. Vanity style, plumbing fixtures, countertop material, shower glass, flooring transition, lighting placement, mirror scale, hardware, paint color, ventilation, storage layout, and more.

Most homeowners walk into a remodel having chosen maybe 2 or 3 of these. Then the contractor is on site and waiting. The timeline stalls. The budget creeps because you’re making rushed decisions under pressure, or because the tile you fell in love with has a 12-week lead time nobody warned you about.

The rule we follow with every client before a single wall comes down: every decision made, every item ordered. It protects your budget. It protects your timeline. And it means the finished room looks exactly the way you planned, and not like a series of compromises made in a hurry.

This is why we do what we do.

Watching little girls walk into their brand new bathroom - designed just for them, never gets old. The squeal, the spin, the “is this really mine?” moment? That’s the whole point.

Every project we take on is personal. Because spaces aren’t just beautiful, they shape how people feel at home.

What was your favorite room growing up? Drop it below 👇🏼

The remodel mistake almost every homeowner makes first.

It’s not picking the wrong tile. It’s not going over budget on fixtures.
It’s starting before every single decision has been made.

Watch this reel. We tagged 39+ decisions in this one bathroom alone - vanity style, plumbing fixtures, countertop material, shower glass, flooring transition, lighting placement, mirror scale, hardware, paint color, ventilation, storage layout, and more.

The smallest details often have the biggest impact on how a room feels.

Layering textures, materials, lighting, and textiles creates depth and warmth that can’t be achieved through furniture alone.

The difference is rarely one dramatic feature. It’s how every element works together.

The most inviting rooms are never built around just one beautiful piece.

They come together through layers, furnishings scaled to the space, lighting that shapes the mood, custom drapery that softens the architecture, rugs that ground the room, and details that create balance throughout the home.

In this project, every element was selected to work together visually and functionally, creating a space that feels comfortable, connected, and designed for the way our clients live every day.

This is what full-service furnishing means to us, guiding every layer of the process from planning to final installation.
