i'm an artist in Ok city. I make original art and enjoy showing off the art progression process. What I make is probably a niche craft.

I make wooden wall masks and monster wood art.

I do not like the digital marketing and online business part of being an artist. Youtube tells me I need to get into an art gallery exhibition.

I should probably seek financial advice, but part of my personal development is learning new skills.

All about that base coat of paint!

Today on LIVE, I talked a bit about the process of my work and my path as a new artist.

I make weird wooden art that include wall masks and monsters.

Handcrafted Wooden Monsters

Some are grumpy. Some are confused. Some probably shouldn't be trusted around snacks!

Each monster begins as an original drawing before being cut from wood, assembled, hand painted, and finished. Created in small batches, every piece is designed to have its own distinct personality and charm.

Whether displayed on a shelf, desk, bookcase, or workshop bench, these creatures are intended to bring a little weirdness and whimsy wherever they decide to live.

Currently available at The Oracle Vintage & Arts in Moore, Oklahoma.

Just a totally normal weirdo making weird art late at night.

To me; art is inspiring, art is creative, art is therapeutic, and truly powerful!

Or maybe I am just as weird as my art...

“The Bumble Oni”

Inspired by one of nature's most important creatures; the bee. While traditional Oni are often portrayed as fearsome supernatural beings, this interpretation combines that powerful presence with the bold colors and unmistakable markings of a bumble bee.

This version was created using layered wood and hand painted with striking gold, black, and white coloration. Three rounded horns crown the mask, giving it a distinctive silhouette while maintaining the strong expression characteristic of the Oni collection.

This piece and others are currently available at The Oracle Vintage & Arts in Moore, Oklahoma.

"The Royal Orc"

Inspired by traditional fantasy depictions of orcs; powerful, weathered creatures with rough features, tusks, horns, and intimidating expressions.

This version was created using layered wood and hand painted with a bold green face, contrasting black features, gold teeth that symbolize its elevated rank within the collection.

This piece is currently available at Oracle in Moore, Oklahoma.

From here, I fill in the seam with wood clay.

Then sand again when dry!

Then they all get a base white that seals the fibers.

Then I sand again!
