We are honored to have been part of the Village on Walnut team that was nominated as one of the finalists for small scale development award at the 12th Urban Land Institute (ULI) Oklahoma awards ceremony.

Before and after site images of the neighborhood with 23 right sized, energy efficient homes that have useable porches along a common park like area. Most of the homes were sold at work force rates to hard working professionals and vets that could not afford to buy a new home otherwise.

So many great projects and people in OKC right now that have a passion to make our community better for all.

We are proud to be part of Goodwill's new opportunity center with renovations to an existing 20,000 sf warehouse. The new facility will provide new offices and training facilities to help folks learn new skills and find employment. The new entry with the goodwill sign on copper blocks relates to the sculptural hope sign to draw visitors in and convey a sense of movement.

Goodwill Central Oklahoma is set to open its new Opportunity Center in downtown Oklahoma City this summer, aiming to remove barriers to employment and provide comprehensive support services.

So happy to see another one of our restaurant/ bar projects open for business. The original house's exterior walls and roof were left intact while the interior was opened up to create space for a large bar, kitchen and restroom with a dramatic volume. New windows and roof structure with added insulation make the building more efficient. Outdoors the playful fire and water sculpture is a beacon to those passing by on 23rd and for those that wish to enjoy the court yard like spaces.
Besides looking great the food and drinks are delicious !

Today at the STAK we continued work on the awnings. Its always the last 10% of a project that seems to take forever. Details are not easy but worth it. Thanks Shelby Fitzsimmons for the welding skills.

We look for ways to reduce waste as much as possible in a project. Example: here at the STAK we had to buy a minimum amount of red brick mortar that resulted in 25 unused bags. Rather than haul off to the dump we had the mason mix up the rest and pour on the ground. Next our concrete contractor used his bobcat's hammer to break into little pieces that we can use as a groundcover

Congratulations to Guyutes for being the best and for making it happen for 10 years! Thats no small feat in the restaurant business. We are happy that we got to be their Architect all those years ago.

Good to see one our projects completed with Bison Project Development LLC. We worked together to rezone the two vacant lots, along N Blackwelder between NW 30th and NW 29th to allow more density - up to 8 units per lot =16 units total -near the OCU campus and Asian District. Phase 1 units are available now and Phase 2 will be ready soon.

Progress on the STAK. Brick , roof and balcony frame completed. Small projects feel really big when you so close work with them each day.

Brick work starts this week on the STAK. For some reason we had decided it had to be white brick until we tried the locally made red brick and immediately changed our minds. The mostly brick facade of the STAK with a little metal plays off our corrugated clad AK87 which has a little red brick too.

Great reminder to step back at times from the trees to look at the entire forest.
