✨🌱A little garden trick that’s working beautifully this year. The broccoli acts like a living shade cloth, helping the lettuce stay cool and productive long after unprotected lettuce would start bolting. 🌱🥬

Have you tried growing crops in layers?

🌱Delicate and nature-inspired, these sterling silver earrings capture the intricate beauty hidden within a leaf. Created from the fine vein patterns of real foliage, each disc preserves the lace-like texture and organic details that make every leaf unique.

The layered design features a larger leaf-imprinted disc paired with a smaller dangling accent, creating gentle movement and a subtle shimmer with every turn of the head. Lightweight and easy to wear, these earrings bring a touch of woodland elegance to both everyday outfits and special occasions.

✨ A few highlights from this weekend’s Precious Metal Clay workshop at Craft Foundry! ✨
There is something magical about taking a lump of clay made from recycled silver and transforming it into a lasting piece of jewelry. Students learned how to roll, texture, shape, refine, and fire their creations- watching their designs emerge from clay into solid silver before their eyes.

From delicate botanical leaf pendants to unique textured pieces and tiny treasures, every project reflected the creativity of its maker. One of my favorite moments is always seeing the excitement when the torch comes out and the transformation begins!
Thank you to everyone who spent the day creating, experimenting, and learning together. Crafting by hand slows us down, sparks curiosity, and reminds us that beautiful things often take patience.
Interested in learning Precious Metal Clay? Future workshops are being planned at Craft Foundry in Oley. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to expand your jewelry-making skills, I’d love to have you join us.

🌿 Handmade from earth and imagination.
✨ Fired into silver.

There’s something deeply satisfying about making medicine from the plants growing around us.

This first-aid infusion is a simple blend of yarrow and plantain - two humble herbs that may already be growing in your yard - infused in olive oil and finished with a touch of lavender. Yarrow has a long history of use for minor cuts and scrapes, while plantain is often treasured by herbalists for soothing irritated skin. Together they create a beautiful golden infusion that feels like a little bit of wild wisdom captured in a bottle.
I’m continually amazed by how much abundance surrounds us when we learn to recognize it.
A heartfelt thank you to Kara Jo for teaching me this process and sharing her knowledge of these everyday plants. Every time I make an infusion like this, I’m reminded that learning traditional skills is just as valuable as creating something beautiful.
Have you ever used plantain or yarrow in your herbal preparations?

This Memorial Day weekend, the sky paused long enough to put on a show.

Above the garden, a band of rainbow color stretched across the clouds- a reminder that even on days of remembrance, there is beauty, wonder, and light. While gathering with family and friends, we also pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice allows us the freedom to enjoy simple moments like this one: sunshine on the grass, time with loved ones, and eyes lifted toward the sky.

I built this fence out of freshly cut pear tree branches- no nails, no store-bought materials, just what was already here.
And look! It’s alive.
New leaves are popping out, rooting itself right into the soil.
A living fence.
A living garden.
• Sustainable, beautiful, and full of life.
