Since I was young, I have spent many years of my life living abroad and traveling to many countries. I have been exposed to different languages, traditions, and ways of life, and have learned to appreciate the diversity and richness of different cultures. Since marrying my husband, who is from South India, our family has grown to include members from both of our cultural backgrounds, which has all
owed us to celebrate and share the traditions and values of each culture with our children. In Tamil, "kaivinai" is a word that means “handmade,” "creativity," or "innovation." It is often used to refer to the ability to come up with new and original ideas, or to create something in a unique or imaginative way. In a broader sense, "kaivinai" can also refer to the ability to think outside the box and approach problems in a creative and innovative way. We believe in the beauty of creating goods by hand, even though there may be slight variations or differences. The result is that each and every item is unique. Buying handmade means you are supporting sustainable and greener business practices, since there is no factory or large production (it’s all made in my home office!) and these products do not travel hundreds or thousands of miles to get to you. I started this business because I love to make things, and with the encouragement of my family, I’ve turned my hobby into a business. In addition to embroidery patterns, I make jewelry, custom mugs, and wall decor. As a mom of two, crafting is my “happy place.” I’m looking forward to expanding my office space in the next two years so that I can partner up with more small businesses like ChocGlitz & Cream. I’d like to personally invite you to visit my shop www.etsy.com/shop/KaivinaiDesign and follow me on Instagram to see my latest creations. Thank you for supporting my small business!
