SAUL “CANELO” ALVAREZ

Excited to finally unveil one of my most intricate designs yet. to highlight my artistic versatility, I created this 1OF1 work that merges the traditions of portrait realism with the tactile medium of tufted textiles completed in a monochromatic grayscale palette. This is not just a rug — this is raw, heavy texture. A face you can walk on, but also stare back at. Blurring the boundaries between fine art and functional design this portrait attracts both visual and tactile engagement.

It was both a pleasure and a pain to work on, after completing I felt as if I had just got done with twelve rounds in the ring with Canelo himself 😅 All jokes aside, this design was my introduction to the realm of art i would like to continue creating moving forward. this design that was both gruesome & gritty pays tribute to the authenticity of my craftsmanship and hopefully pave a path towards more opportunities in this line of work in the future.. It would be greatly appreciated if everyone could take part in helping my attempt to gain eye’s on this work of him. A thank you in advance to anyone that contributes 🙏🏼

lastly, shout out to Victory Boxing Gym for opening up their doors to me. The coaches and boxers were both polite and a pleasure to work with. And, shoutout to my camera man .photos74 bro killed it on this shoot! unfortunately some of his work i was not able to upload due to things i have a minimal understanding for, as i obtain access to such clips i’ll be sure to share them on my story so you can can see a bit more of what both Victory Boxing Gym and .photos74 have to offer. highly recommend booking and dropping a follow for my guy Nestor!

PULLED 💵 OUT THE CONCRETE, I DID REAL 🪄

extremely PROUD & EXCITED to finally share this piece of art with everyone! i put in a ton of rigorous hours creating the design & then trimming up every detail i could to get it as close as possible to the “rug version” of this collage of folded currency notes from around the world.

“JUST CAN’T GET ENOUGH.. of what, though?” ⬅️ the question i pondered to myself over & over while i chipped away at the finished product. the obvious answer is, *MONEY, CASH, EFFECTIVO* but thats too shallow of an answer.. the more thought i put into it, brought me to the realization that while yes, many ppl chase the idea of having more money. its all for a different purpose, resource or experience. some may want more so they can have more materialistic items such as cars, clothes, jewelry, etc. some may use it so they can travel around the world, others may want more so they can provide better care for their loved ones, others so they can have the luxury of more time to spend with their families. money is universal and can serve many of purposes. i challenge you all to think of why it is you “chase the bag” as much as you do. i believe finding out your answer to that question can help provide some type of purpose that can help benefit your drive going forward. i hope this semi-long read helped stimulate your brainwaves on this hot sunday afternoon.

SERIOUSLY, thank you ALL for the support on this journey! the experience has been a dynamic blend of excitement, challenge, and personal growth, marked by the opportunity to work with outstanding individuals. when i crafted my first rug, i struggled to imagine reaching my current level of proficiency, but through patience, dedication, and perseverance, my self-assurance has grown substantially, allowing me to establish myself as a skilled textile artist! you haven’t seen everything yet, i still got some tricks up my sleeve as I continue to develop innovative ideas and techniques that will be showcased in due course.

MY “FIRST” REALISM PIECE 👨🏻‍🎨

firstly, i would like to say huge thank you to Dylan & his significant other for allowing me the opportunity to create this exquisite masterpiece. they were a joy to work with throughout the whole process, and i am grateful for their understanding & recognition!

in my experience, every artist’s biggest critic is themselves, and i am no exception. despite receiving positive feedback from others, i often find myself pointing out minor flaws that prevent me from being completely satisfied with my work. this tendency can be a double edged sword. however, it does not deter me from pursuing my passion for creating custom textile designs that bring people’s ideas to life!

super sick lil figure that came out of a Fuerza Regida music video. need to make another one sometime so i can have him hanging up in my crib too 🔥

had to do some surgery on him as well after a small lil mishap, but he recovered greatly & like nothing ever happened. see the last slides for a before & after. INMORTAL FR 💪🏼
