There’s something pretty special about seeing things come full circle. ❤️

Three years ago, I made this wood-burned cutting board as a Father’s Day gift for JT. It was also one of those early projects where we were experimenting, learning, and figuring out what we could create as 402 Etch & Vinyl was beginning to take off.

And here we are three years later, still pulling this exact board out at the camper and actually USING it. Grilling, cutting, serving—you name it. It hasn’t been tucked away on a shelf for looks, and it’s still holding up beautifully! 🔥

That’s one thing we’ve always loved about what we do. We don’t just make things and send them out the door. We experiment. We make things for ourselves. We use them. We beat them up a little. 😂 And we get to see firsthand how they hold up over time.

Seeing this board three years later is a pretty awesome reminder of where we started, how much we’ve learned, and why we continue to care about making things that aren’t just cool—they’re meant to be used and enjoyed for years.

🍷 64 CUSTOM WINE GLASSES…BECAUSE APPARENTLY WE DON’T KNOW HOW TO START SMALL! 😂

We recently laser engraved 64 wine glasses for our friends at Beaver Lake Beer, Wine & Spirits—and only TWO didn’t make it through the process.

Honestly, 62 out of 64 isn’t bad when you’re working with glass! Please raise a toast to the two that cracked under pressure. They were clear. They were shiny. They had their whole pour ahead of them. 😂🍷

But these glasses are just the beginning of the cool s**t we’re creating with our friends at Beaver Lake Beer, Wine & Spirits! We have more ideas brewing, pouring and possibly causing JT to question why he ever agrees to any of my ideas. Stay tuned—this collaboration is about to get REALLY fun!

If you’re in the Beaver Lake area, make sure you stop in and visit them! They have wine tastings, a bar and plenty of beer, wine and spirits. You might walk in saying, “I’m just looking,” but that’s adorable. We all know how this ends. 🤷‍♀️

Nothing says “we’re ready for the school year” quite like ordering TEN personalized water bottles! 😂 Felicia is hoping this supply gets her kiddos through at least the first part of the year… because we all know school water bottles have a habit of disappearing into the same mysterious universe as missing socks and lunchbox lids. 🤣

JT worked his laser magic on these, and we absolutely LOVE how they turned out! The colors are gorgeous, and each bottle has its own special personalized design. 💙💜

🔥 TODAY’S EPISODE OF: “I HAVE TOOLS, SO NATURALLY I THINK I CAN DO EVERYTHING” 😂

I decided to try legit hand wood burning—no laser, no fancy machine…just me, a handheld burning tool and an absolutely unreasonable amount of confidence. 😬

Let’s just say this project and I spent so much quality time together that we’re now in a committed relationship. But who’s counting?! 😂

The best part about having endless creative possibilities is getting to experiment! Sometimes it’s a masterpiece. Sometimes it’s mediocre. Sometimes it’s a complete bust. And sometimes you stare at it long enough that you can no longer tell whether you love it or need to apologize to the wood. 🤷‍♀️🔥

This one has officially left me undecided, so I’m handing it over to the Facebook jury!

🌻 What’s the verdict?

A: Keep it—it’s handmade and adorable!
B: Not bad for a first attempt!
C: Amber…slowly put down the burning tool and return to the lasers. 😂
D: I’ll take it off your hands so you never have to look at it again!

We recently had a customer reach out with one heck of a birthday surprise for her Irish-loving husband’s 50th — she’s taking him on a 2027 tour through Ireland!

Oh, and she’s not just taking him.

THE WHOLE FAMILY IS GOING. 😂
All SEVEN of them will be roaming Ireland together… in matching shirts, because obviously. 🍀🍻

She supplied us with this awesome graphic, and we handled getting it onto shirts for the entire crew.

Now, you might think the hardest part of this project was keeping a giant Ireland vacation secret…

Nope.

It was deciding what COLOR the shirts should be. 😂😂

After some friendly banter back and forth…

"What about this color?"
"Ehhh…"
"Okay, what about THIS one?"
"Maybe…"
"How about ivory?"
"YES. THAT'S IT." 😂

We finally landed on these ivory shirts, and DAMN if they weren't the perfect choice for this design. 😍

And THAT is part of custom work! Sometimes we nail it on the first try, and sometimes we have to lovingly argue about shirt colors until the right one wins. 🤣

The customer supplied this particular graphic, but you absolutely do NOT have to come to us with artwork already made. Give us your idea, your occasion, your inside joke, your theme—or even your “I have no freaking clue what I want, but here's what I'm trying to do”—and we'll help you figure it out!

Birthdays, surprise trips, family vacations, anniversaries, reunions, or just because you want seven people walking through another country in matching shirts… we're your people. 😂

Sometimes we engrave something because it looks cool.

And sometimes… we get to create something that carries family, memories, and meaning with it.

A customer reached out to us wanting a custom cowboy hat made for her sister, who is part of the rodeo world. She had a couple very specific things she wanted incorporated into the design:

❤️ Their grandpa’s farm brand — a piece of their family history.
❤️ Her sister’s kiddos’ initials underneath the brand — making it even more personal.

From there, she gave us the opportunity to bring everything together into a design that felt like her sister — western, detailed, beautiful, and completely one-of-a-kind.

Then today, we received this message:

“I gave my sister her hat and she loved it so much she cried.”

Followed by:

“You did beautiful work.”

😭😭😭

THAT. That right there is why we love doing this.

Yes, we have lasers. Yes, we make cool s**t. 😂 But the coolest part is getting to take someone's ideas, memories, family history, and little details that mean something to them and turn those things into a gift they'll hopefully keep forever.

This wasn't just a cowboy hat.

It had Grandpa on it.
It had her babies on it.
It had a little bit of her story engraved right into the brim. ❤️

Thank you for trusting 402 Etch & Vinyl with something this special. Knowing there were happy tears when she opened it absolutely made our day.
