Proof that you don’t need a heavy, dark stain to make a lasting statement. This custom red oak rift and quartered herringbone pattern we installed delivers all the refinement and texture a room needs, while keeping the overall palette light and airy. Anchoring the natural grain with tailored navy accents creates an inviting balance that feels fresh today and classic for years to come.

Engineered flooring definitely has its place, but there’s still nothing quite like a true 3/4" solid hardwood.

This project features Paramount Flooring’s Stockbridge collection in Stridewell (European White Oak). The wirebrushed texture and warm, natural tones tie in seamlessly with the custom cabinetry and the waterfall island, making the whole main level feel connected and grounded.

The biggest upside to going solid here? Longevity. While quality engineered floors can often take one or two light sandings down the road, a true 3/4" solid profile gives you a deep, usable wear layer above the tongue and groove. That means decades from now—whether life happens or design trends change—this floor can be completely sanded down to bare wood, restained, and refinished multiple times. It’s an investment built to outlast the life of the home.

A custom staircase is an investment—a patterned runner is how you protect it without hiding it.
Leaving the white oak exposed along the margins lets the custom stain and grain shine, while the runner adds traction, quiets foot traffic, and ties the entire landing together.

Function meets finish.

GBR! 🏐🔴⚪

It was definitely neat to be able to work on this project for the Husker volleyball team! We installed 5" Herringbone White Oak prefinished flooring by Anderson Tuftex in the newly updated players lounge at the Devaney Center locker room.

The timeless herringbone pattern brings a classic yet modern look to the space, built to handle the energy of our championship team. Exceptional craftsmanship for an elite program.

There’s something about contrast that just works. Pairing a rich, prefinished white oak floor with moody, dark walls creates a level of sophistication that really lets the natural wood grain take center stage.

It’s amazing how a high-quality, prefinished install can ground a space like this—especially when you’ve got a grand piano echoing in the background. At Maverick Hardwood Floors, this is exactly the kind of timeless aesthetic we aim for: clean, professional, and built to make a statement. Whether you're designing for a modern home or a classic interior, the right floor doesn't just fill the room; it sets the tone for everything else.

This was a unique project that came across the desk at Maverick Hardwood Floors. While exterior restoration isn't typically part of the standard service offerings, an exception was made to assist with this beautiful outdoor teahouse.

The project involved sanding, cleaning, and re-oiling a Cumaru wood deck, which serves as a stunning example of this material's potential. Cumaru, often called Brazilian Teak, is an incredibly dense, durable exotic hardwood known for its natural resistance to decay, insects, and moisture. Because of its extreme hardness and tight grain structure, it is an excellent choice for outdoor applications, though it requires specific care to maintain its rich, warm color and prevent it from graying over time. It was a pleasure to help restore the natural vibrancy of this wood and ensure the structure remains well-protected for years to come.

The wallpaper kind of grows on you.... but honestly, it’s the red oak floor that really steals the show. There’s something timeless about the rich, warm grain that makes the whole space feel grounded, even against such a bold pattern.

When you're working with a classic red oak like this, the goal is to let that natural character shine through. With these subtle, deep amber tones that catch the light, it provides an anchor that balances out the more vibrant elements of the room (like a retro blue patterned wallpaper, for example). It’s a perfect example of why, as a contractor, we always advocate for quality hardwood—it doesn't just match a design; it defines the atmosphere of a home.

This is a reminder that there is no "silver bullet" or "right answer" when picking colors, but the answer is in going with something that compliments your home's style and character.

Sometimes red oak gets a bad rap, but this project proves exactly why it remains a top-tier choice for high-end flooring. When finished with the right approach—like the clean, natural look seen here—it sheds its dated reputation and feels incredibly modern and sophisticated.

It’s all about the ex*****on. By choosing a natural finish, we let the subtle, warm undertones of the wood harmonize with contemporary design elements like these clean-lined cabinets rather than competing against them. The result is a bright, airy aesthetic that adds real character to a home without feeling heavy or tired.

If you're still skeptical about red oak, this result might be the one to change your mind. It’s durable, timeless, and, when done right, undeniably beautiful.

This sophisticated 🧐 walnut parquet floor featured here transforms this space into the ultimate golf simulator room. Achieving this level of precision and durability required a rigorous technical approach, which is why the entire installation relied on the Loba Wakol system for this on grade slab application. From sealing the concrete to the final application of the stain and finish, utilizing this comprehensive system ensures maximum stability and a flawless, high-end result.

Walnut is highly regarded in flooring for its exceptional stability and its striking, rich heartwood, which ranges from deep, chocolate browns to lighter, golden tones. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, walnut is prized for its moderate density and excellent shock-absorbing qualities, making it a luxurious yet durable choice for high-use areas. Parquet patterns bring a classic, geometric artistry to a room, and when paired with the premium quality of American Walnut, the result is a timeless, high-performance look that perfectly anchors this modern space.
