Our summer hours are now in effect: We are now open 10:00-4:30 Monday through Saturday. Plus, we are often open earlier and later each day…if our OPEN sign is lit, please come in to shop for great local art, crafts and jewelry!❤️

So I like to make these little dragon pictures, painting a tiny 4 inch canvas (because I’m no good at painting BIG). Started out a couple years ago with different colored dragons and their individual lairs, using dyed Labradorites. This one is the first in a new series using a natural Labradorite stone, and for some reason, I thought it needed a poem, too 🐉

The seasons are turning, just a bit, this week. False spring….again. It feels good to use this time, before real spring, which moves so quickly to an achingly beautiful and busy summer in the western U.P., to create new pieces that further us on our creative journeys. My friends here are busy too, and I love when they bring their new work to the shop. I would like to invite the others who share this retail space with me to bring their new items here, and if you are someone who loves to create and would like the opportunity to sell your items here, message me and let’s start a conversation about how that works. It’s been a weird winter here. Lots of snow, less than spectacular driving conditions…Bob and I have even taken a few snow days…like yesterday…that turned out to be preemptive on our part, as it is snowing TODAY (Saturday) instead.

Nevertheless, and even with cold(!) temps coming up next week, we are (mostly always) open M-F 10:00-4:00. AND, since lots of folks are staying home with their hot cocoa these days, I have plenty of time to make new stuff!!! Currently, I have great selection of jewelry and lots of locally made gifts and decor, but I’ve also been pursuing a few of my other artsy interests. This last week I’ve been wishing for spring and making some nature-inspired wood-burned coasters. What do you think?
