We did NOT see this coming, and that is what made it so special. Elect Devin Manuel McKnight - Mayor of Opelousas
Today, Mrs. Devin Manuel McKnight stopped by Art Box Studio and Gallery and surprised our Electric Era campers with an abundance of snacks. No fanfare, no big production. She just showed up, and what happened next was something none of us expected.
She stayed. She sat with the kids. She answered their questions, listened to their ideas about Opelousas, and gave them her full, undivided attention. Watching a grown adult take young people seriously, in real time, was something our campers will not forget. That kind of patience and presence speaks for itself.
Ms. Kee and The Art Box Op Krewe want to extend the most heartfelt thank you to Mrs.Manuel- McKnight for pouring into our kids today. It was a simple gesture that left a lasting impression.
Art Box has always been a space where community shows up and shows out. We have had the privilege of building strong relationships with small businesses, creatives, and community leaders all across Opelousas and the Acadiana region, and we treasure every single one of those connections.
