This is not my usually plant-related post, this one of my eight legged masterpieces: the Black Jaw Huntsman or scientifically known as Heteropoda tetrica. Hailing from the heights of Mons Carin (or “Karen Hills”) in Myanmar, this species can grow to a modest 5-6 inches and can live for 1-2 years. This spider is a member of Araneomorphae or True Spiders which consists of everything to daddy long legs in your garage (Pholcus sp.) to the six-eyed sand spiders of the Sahara (Sicariidae).
