Hi! I'm Michelle and it's nice to meet you here. I'm an interior designer in Orange County California, a business owner for Michelle Koh Interiors, a mother of two, and wife.

I created this business because home is a very special place and it deserves intentional design. I BELIEVE IN designing soulful, modern and quiet luxury spaces that reflects the story of each of my clients.

I STARTED DESIGNING in my 20s in corporate design for large global brands and where I developed my thoughts about the role of design in everyday life. And in 2020 during the pandemic, I started a new creative chapter in home remodeling.

OUR HOME WAS THE FIRST place where I discovered my love for designing interior spaces as we remodeled our 5,100 sq. ft Spanish-style home. From working with contractors, trades, and partners the challenge to solve both creative and functional problems felt familiar and new at the same time.

After "finishing" our home (let's face it ... a designers home is never finished) THIS LED TO MORE remodeling projects as friends started asking for help ranging from mid-century style ranch homes to vintage inspired make-overs of kitchens and bathrooms.

AND IT DIDN'T END THERE as furnishing and styling requests came in allowing me to really dive deep with curiosity for each one of my client's styles and preferences. I put rooms together that felt highly personal and nuanced.

THIS HAS TAUGHT ME that I enjoy working on projects that seeks to do something different from the ordinary because cookie-cutter doesn't move you when it comes to your home. And sometimes, even Pinterest feels recycled filled with AI generated renderings that feel soulless.

I am loving how this kitchen renovation in Mission Viejo is coming together! The client asked for earthy elegance so we explored ways in which the materials and the finishes could tell this story.

Neutral paints, rich wood tones, and warm metals each play a role in achieving this goal and when they’re chosen with intention, every selection begins telling this design story.

This kitchen started like any builder-grade space but we gave it a full makeover where all the right design details changed everything.

Think the perfect beige paint, custom walnut handles, a statement backsplash, soft Roman shades, warm white countertops, and decor that ties it all together. Each element was carefully selected to coordinate and compliment every finish so that in the end, it feels like they were all meant to be together.

You don’t always have to do a big renovation to get a big transformation. ✨
