We had a great time today learning more about interior and exterior lighting with the team at ArchLumen Lighting Systems!

Hands-on product demos made it even better.

A big thank you to David Martin and Eliseo Camacho for taking the time to walk us through how lighting conditions impact human biology, workplace environments, and current lighting regulations. Friendly reminder: please don’t throw lamps or batteries in the trash.

💡Fluorescents, CFLs, and many common lamp types are often regulated as universal waste and should be recycled with proper handling and documentation to ensure compliance and accurate record-keeping.

Not to mention, Fluorescents contain mercury and are considered toxic - improper disposal of these bulbs can lead to thousands of $$$ in fines.

And, when lamps go in the trash, they can shatter and **injure the people handling your waste,** including your team and your hauler.

At FTS, we’ve been in the recycling space since 1948, helping facilities operate safely, responsibly, and efficiently.

♻️Here are some items we see facilities toss into the trash that actually require special recycling:

- Lamps (fluorescents/CFLs and more).
- Batteries of any size.
