It’s the small things. This is a rental property. They wanted to refresh the cabinets after some water damage happened. The cabinets sat a little differently than the original footprint of the cabinets, and left a little bit of a gap in the footprint of the flooring (scroll left for pic).
What’s so amazing about this first picture is that my tile installer was able to actually salvage old tiles by pulling them up from where the fridge and dishwasher go. And then he used another tile that was darker, that I pulled from Home Depot and didn’t completely match the old tiles, to fill in the fridge and dishwasher spaces, where the appliances will cover it.
We weren’t sure the old tiles would pull up without damage, yet he did it!! And saved the day! Thank you to Dave @ Santa Ana Tile for doing such amazing work! You’re the best!
And this, folks, is why you hire an interior designer to project manage your installations. We problem solve and make things look better. And why you hire professionals to do even the small jobs. They get it right.
